Overreach

(Cartoonist - Nick Anderson)

In other news, Donald Trump selected Ben Carson to head his VP selection team but Carson has left the team after just one week.

Meanwhile, batshit Nevada assemblywoman Michele Fiore has changed her mind -- you shouldn't aim your guns at local police officers but it's okay if you aim them at BLM agents, she says.

Nope

Finally, indicted fraudster Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has announced his support for North Carolina's lawsuit against the Department of Justice.

“The people of the United States, through their representatives in Congress, enacted the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to ensure, in part, that men and women are treated equally. Congress has not changed this law to mean that individuals may choose whether they want to be male or female for the purpose of public accommodations. One’s sex is a biological fact, not a state of mind, and this threat to North Carolina is the latest in a long series of efforts by an unaccountable federal executive branch. My office stands with Governor McCrory and the people of North Carolina regarding this unconstitutional form of federal overreach.”

The idea that smirking schmuck Ken Paxton knows the Civil Rights Act better than Loretta Lynch, the first black woman to become the attorney general, would be funnier if it weren't so offensive.

Is anyone sickened by how Republican politicians crassly trivialize transgenderism?

Ann Coulter was on Bill Maher’s show last Friday complaining about how offended she was by comparisons between the discrimination faced by African Americans during the Civil Rights movement and discrimination faced by transgendered people today. Which I found offensive. Not the part about there being no comparison to be made because the level of violence faced by African Americans taking part in protests and in their daily lives was incomparable. No I was offended by the idea that Ann Coulter has ever been concerned with any such thing.

Had Ann Coulter been a pundit during the Civil Rights era she would have been standing side by side with the same people who were calling Dr. Martin Luther King a communist and screaming it just as loud. Conservatives are always willing to pretend to be concerned about things that they have clearly never had any interest in at all.

Sadly, no one responded by slapping her in the face with a cold dead fish.
