Palin Blames Oil Spill on Environmentalists

Her Facebook ghostwriter offers us this bit of ridiculous backwards logic:

With [environmentalists'] nonsensical efforts to lock up safer drilling areas, all you're doing is outsourcing energy development, which makes us more controlled by foreign countries, less safe, and less prosperous on a dirtier planet. Your hypocrisy is showing. You're not preventing environmental hazards; you're outsourcing them and making drilling more dangerous.

Extreme deep water drilling is not the preferred choice to meet our country's energy needs, but your protests and lawsuits and lies about onshore and shallow water drilling have locked up safer areas. It's catching up with you. The tragic, unprecedented deep water Gulf oil spill proves it.

First, Media Matters debunked all of this. As recently as last month, Palin was promoting offshore drilling.

"Your hypocrisy is showing?" How? Oh I know. "Hypocrisy" like a when a candidate for vice president can't describe the role of the vice president, then accuses other people of being "nonsensical."

Speaking of nonsensical, how about this: accusing environmentalists of causing the BP oil spill -- as though environmentalists are somehow able to overpower Big Oil. That's nonsensical.

And finally, whether it's the work of her or her ghostwriter, it comes off like a really shitty letter to the editor in a high school newspaper.
