In other news, former Speaker John Boehner has taken on another new job as a D.C. lobbyist in addition to his role on the board of the Reynolds tobacco company. He's cashing in big.

Meanwhile, the photograph of a bowl of Skittles candy used in an anti-refugee neo-nazi meme posted by Donald Trump Jr. was apparently taken by a refugee.

Finally, the Southern Conference is considering following the NBA, NCAA, and ACC by pulling out of North Carolina in response to HB2.

Programming note... we may have found a solution to the strange problems a few people have noticed lately. Let me know if you see it (or don't see it) again.

Update... Let me know if you're still seeing problems.

Trump Monster Jr.says its a “statistical thing”. Let us stop and ponder just how many lives would have been lost if the idiot terrorist had bothered to do what the guy in Orlando did. And I don’t suppose Congress has done a damned thing to change the law that protects the terrorists right to purchase semi-automatic assault rifles yet?

God, that ‘skittles’ comment was the worst. Do these people have any idea how many people of the men, women and children variety are killed by accidental gun deaths. Just from people mishandling their own guns. Or not properly storing them away from children.
Or from drunk driving fatalities. I personally have known a whole lot of people who’ve had loved ones killed through drunk drivers. Pressure cooker bombs? Not so much. I am not minimizing the threat. But to elevate it to some overriding threat that should overwhelm everything that makes America exceptional in the world, is really just fear mongering for profit. Personally, I can “figure things out” pretty quickly and I don’t need a lot of time or extraordinary measures to do it. And I can do that because we have certain principles in this country that make the American experience exceptional and one of those is we do not engage in collective guilt. The people who actually commit or abet terrorist attacks are the ones responsible for those terrorist attacks. Not the people who only seek refuge from persecution and repression in their own lands. Whether political or religious, This is why our legal system puts the emphasis on not incarcerating the innocent to the extent that guilt must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury of your peers. We don’t punish people or deny them relief based on the idea that they are guilty of something because of who their parents were, what country they come from, or what religion they believe in. And to the extent that America is exceptional, it is that it cherishes and abides by these principles.

Right now John Boehner is the happiest of whores.

Donald Trump Jr. looks like he once made an excellent recruitment officer for the Hitler Youth.

Way to go NC elected officials! The revenue just keeps on bleeding doesn’t it?!

I’ll fix the missing images when I can. It’s still being worked on.

I would say the guy should sue Trump, but he’ll just pay with other people’s money from the so-called Trump Foundation. Although having the people who donate to the Trump Foundation give this guy money is the next best thing maybe.

No cartoon on this page, and most of the header pics are missing from the homepage as of now (9:30 EDT).

I don’t have the wierd stuff with this post, but neither do I have the cartoon.

  • Username1016

    It’s better now.

It looks like we’ve found the problem, or at least we know what the problem is but are still trying to lock it down. Some kind of infection is replacing text with the spam you’ve been seeing. The reason some people are seeing it while others are not, and the reason I wasn’t able to see it, is because things display differently depending on how you’re logged into the system (or not logged in at all)

If you haven’t followed any of the weird links that have shown up lately, you’re probably fine. But if you have for some reason, you should run a virus scan. You may want to run one anyway.

No gibberish for me today (but, like others, I am seeing some of the images missing).

  • Ken Kohl

still weird stuff, in addition to the Trump cartoon 😉

  • Username1016

Okay, seems like other people are seeing the weird stuff?

Here’s what the previous post looked like on my Chromebook:

It still looks like that for me, but the text is normal in my RSS feeder.

    • JMAshby

Thanks for the tip. We thought it might be an image plugin, but apparently not.

      • KanaW

Mine’s the same sort of thing, but seems to be showing Swiss sites.

      • KanaW

        And now it’s okay.
