The Clinton campaign and pro-Clinton PACs have already pulled their ad spending from Colorado and according to reports the campaign will also pull their ad spending from Virginia.
The campaign’s new television ad buy, which begins next Tuesday, consists of Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The reservations, which could easily be amended in the future, run through Labor Day. [...]
It comes just two weeks after Colorado fell off the list of states comprising Clinton’s ad reservations — and Colorado isn’t part of the new flight, either.
Why are they doing this?
Because as things stand right now, red Arizona and Georgia are closer than Virginia and Colorado. Some polls have even shown Texas being closer than what are traditionally considered to be "battleground" or swing states.
Recent polls show Clinton leading in both Arizona and Georgia, but I don't think anyone is entirely convinced, at least not yet, that either or both states could turn blue. That could change if polls conducted in the coming weeks continue to show Trump losing ground in these red states.
Meanwhile, the Trump campaign is not running ads in any state at all because the Trump campaign does not really exist.
