In other news, a federal grand jury is expected to hear testimony that Fox News spied on their own employees. Former Fox News CFO Mark Kranz has reportedly been given immunity in exchanging for his tell-all.

Meanwhile, Trump widened the rhetorical war against his own party last night, calling out members of the Freedom Caucus by name.

Finally, the University of Central Florida is apparently building a goddamn water park for their sports teams. But we can't afford to pay players who generate all this revenue, right?

UCF isn't even a top 25 school in football or basketball. They're spending $25 million on a water park hoping it will attract recruits who will make them more money.

Rant over.

I saw Ghost in the Shell this afternoon. I've been a fan of the property since I was a teenager (as long as I've been listening to the song above) and it's like I've been waiting ever since then for it to become a live-action film.

The central story of the film explains the controversial casting choice of the Major, but I'm certainly not going to tell anyone they're wrong for having a problem with it. I'm sensitive to the criticism, but I also wanted to see it for myself so I could judge the film as a whole.

Casting aside, I really enjoyed the movie. I have seen some reviews say it's too contemplative and didn't provide enough answers, but neither did the original. The original film, its sequels and the series were often vague and ambiguous; open to interpretation. That's what sets it apart from a generic action series.

It would be fair to say the film could have been better, but it also could have been much, much worse. My expectations were low based on previous (terrible) American adaptations of other Japanese properties, so I was pleasantly surprised.
