LGBT Religion Super Stupid

Slippery Slope

Picard and Riker Facepalm

If we allow recovering alcoholics to meet on church grounds, before you know it we’ll be letting the gays in.

At least that seems to be the thinking of a baptist church in Louisiana.

In mid September, the Westwood Baptist Church in Keithville, Louisiana sent a letter to the leaders of a local AA group informing them that they could no longer meet at the church. According to KSLA News, church leaders explained that if they accommodated the AA group, which had been meeting at the church for more than 5 years, then they could also one day be forced to accommodate same-sex weddings.

Of course. One thing leads to another. One minute you’re helping people who are trying to put the bottle down, and the next minute you’re forced to perform gay marriages.

We all know Jesus would have turned away people in need of help over the non-existent threat of forced gay marriages.

So…the slope is so unslippery that it hasn’t happened in the past 50 years? Weird.

The pastor said he was following the advice of an article published in the Louisiana Baptist Church Message, which reportedly argued that a 2012 New Jersey court decision — a ruling that granted a lesbian couple access to church-owned pavilion — meant that all American churches would be forced to hold gay weddings. The apparent case in question, however, was not an example of a church being forced to perform a gay wedding, but an instance in which a Methodist organization was held accountable for holding a certain kind of tax exempt status that required their property to be free for public use.

So not only is the Westwood Baptist Church run by bigots, it’s run by bigots who unquestioningly believe other bigots who have difficulty with reading comprehension. Color me shocked.

This is what follows from religeous nuts trying to use the government to force their beliefs on others. They are convinced others will try to do the same thing.

Tell them “We have absolutely no interest in telling you what you can and cannot do. We just don’t want you telling us what we can and cannot do.” and all they hear is “You have to live your lives like we live ours.”

And these are the people who are constantly telling us that their political opinions and beliefs are based on “facts” and “logic.”

Do Christians have any clue about what their religion is actually about?

    • Christopher Foxx

Yes. Fear and control, with a bit of just plain hate thrown in.

It would seem a lot of them never got pass the Old Testament.
