Today in our ongoing series: Paul Ryan is an Opportunist, a Liar, and a Piece of Shit

CNN hosted a town hall spectacle for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan last night where he was asked about GOP nominee Donald Trump's plan to deport millions of immigrants from the country.

Ryan said Trump's plan would transform the country in ways we don't want to see and yet, as you know, Ryan is supporting Trump anyway.

“I don’t agree with that. I don’t think rounding up 11 million people A) is the right thing to do, B) would work,” Ryan said during a CNN televised town hall event. “And I don’t think you’d like to see what we’d have to do to the country to do that.” [...]

“I think you have to secure the border, you have to have reforms that get people out of the shadows and get right with the law and make sure while you are securing the border, you are fixing what’s broken in the legal immigration system,” said Ryan, the GOP’s 2012 vice presidential nominee.

And Trump's plans don't stop at mass deportation. Constructing a border wall is the basis of this entire campaign. Trump launched his campaign by declaring that immigrants are mostly criminals and rapists who must be dealt with.

Ryan is not just supporting Trump rhetorically, he'll also speak at Trump's convention. I can't think of any policy positions that Trump and Ryan see entirely eye to eye on aside from a mutual desire to cut taxes for the rich, but that doesn't matter.

I'm not sure if there's anything Trump could say or do that would give Paul Ryan enough pause to say that repealing Obamacare isn't worth it. Nothing will get in the way of Ryan's hunt for the White Wale.

Donald Trump once said he could kill a man and no one would stop supporting him over it. He may have been right.

Paul Ryan is an Opportunist, a Liar, and a Piece of Shit. He is a hustler, a butt boy. He will lick, he will suck, he will do whatever he thinks will get more for the trickle-down Ayn Randers.

You know, if this scum bag wants to do something about immigration, he could hold a vote on the Senate bill that passed some years ago. Not perfect, but MUCH better than what we have now. What a hypocrite

    To quote Chez

    “Ethically bankrupt.”

    Party before country. Quelle surprise.

Seems to be working well for the GOP at this moment, Ash. Drumph is cutting into Clinton’s lead in the polls and fivethirtyeight just released its latest odds which reduces her chances of defeating Drumph from 77.4% to 70.7%. Should we start panicking yet?

Panic? Over clear outliers? Trump is not going to win Florida or Pennsylvania.

There will inevitably be movement in polls between now and November, but Trump’s path to victory is so narrow not even his tiny hands can fit through it. Clinton could lose most of the so-called battleground states and still win, but she’s not going to lose most of them. Possibly none of them.

States like Florida and Pennsvylvnia aren’t even really battlegrounds at this point. The new battleground is Arizona.

From your lips to God’s ears.

…. But not too long ago, I would have bet good money he’d never win the nomination ….
