Election 2016 Healthcare Racism

Taking Healthcare Away From Millions is More Important to Paul Ryan Than Anything

Written by SK Ashby

How could Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) endorse Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump considering the great wealth of terrible things Trump has said and done?

There's no need to speculate. Speaker Ryan himself made it very clear that taking healthcare away from tens of millions of people is more important than anything else.

During a radio show interview on Friday, Ryan said he's willing to look past Trump's overt racism because Trump would sign a repeal of Obamacare.

In an interview with Up Front with Vicki McKenna, a Milwaukee radio show, Ryan said that “the comment about the judge the other day just was out of left field” and that he “completely disagree[s] with the thinking behind that.” [...]

If you want to get rid of Obamacare,” Ryan explained, “you need to pass a new law” that the president must sign. “We need a partner in the White House,” the Speaker continued, “to help us advance these bills that we’ve been passing — these conservative reforms that we want to get in law.”

Trump can skip the dogwhistles and go right to the raw racism. Trump can threatened the integrity of the entire federal judiciary and the rule of law itself.

None of that matters. What matters to Paul Ryan is repealing Obamacare.

I would say Paul Ryan is sadistic, but that would require feeling. I'm not convinced Ryan feels anything.

You can say you disagree with Trump's rhetoric, but actions speak louder than words. Paul Ryan's functional racism defines him as much as it does Trump who is running a campaign based on racism. If Paul Ryan would use Trump's racist campaign to win the White House, Ryan is also a racist.
