Talking about the Every-Man-For-Himself “management style” in the White House: that’s how 45* does things. He’s said as much about how things have worked in his own family.

So there’re plenty of moving parts involved in any organization of any size, but for this thing we laughingly refer to as “the administration”, we get 1000 people all building their own little fiefdoms; all setting and trying to execute their own policy agendas, and we end up with even more thousands of opportunities for any given individual to isolate and bypass POTUS himself – it boils down to the real probability that 45* (in effect or in actuality) IS NOT The President at this time.

Or maybe it’s Shock Doctrine in action. Jackie nailed that one when she hit on the deconstruction of government.

Like I said – lots of moving parts.

    Keep doin’ good, Bob.

Jacki before ’24..it’s more like the far side cartoon made into a coffee mug that showed a crisis clinic submerged in a river, on fire, and heading towards a falls..title the building “Rump presidency” and you’ve got it..

Until Fox (and its friends) is banned or forced into some kind of truth in broadcasting, we won’t make any progress. In addition or instead of civics classes, we need to educate kids in critical thinking. They obviously can’t recognize propaganda at all.. Rump likely bought his way into a degree, just like he bought his way out of Vietnam, and prosecutions for his fraudulent university. The fact that Rump sits in the White House spewing lie after lie after lie diminishes America every day.

I agree with Jacki @ about 28:00 except I would prefer to think of what we have as a government run amok. And hey———-what’s with the shrub??? When we all HAD to hear him almost (if not) daily——he couldn’t manage to string 4 words together without tripping over his own tongue——–now? He’s suddenly articulate!

I never would have thought I would say this, but I miss GW Bush. How bad is that?
That was a very good statement. Presidential. The kind of statement a genuine person would make.

    • mnpollio

Yeah, but if Bush/Cheney had not eroded everything to the extent that they did – we probably would not have a Trump presidency, so they share a good chunk of this debacle as well as far as I am concerned.

Agree completely. My comment also left a lot unsaid. Like….What did they think they were playing at in Florida in 2000. What happened there is the template for voter suppression now across the country including a wildly inaccurate computer program designed to purge voter rolls of “felons” that ended up keeping a large number of people who were certainly not felons from voting. A precursor to Crosscheck. They pioneered the ‘voter fraud’ bullshit that trump is pushing today to try to disenfranchise more voters next time. What did they think that a decision like Citizens United was going to end up doing other than bringing us government of the money, by the money, for the money? Turd Blossom ( Bush’s name for Karl Rove)?
Well, now we have a POS in the White House.
Still, I could respect Bush as a person. And as someone who loves this country and its traditions.
Who, when push comes to shove, will stand up for the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights and for human rights internationally. Who after 9/11 cautioned against lumping all of Islam into a bin called “terrorist” . The country was not in good shape when he left, but it was not intentional. With trump, its intentional.
I have no respect even for the office of presidency so long as someone like trump is occupying it.
