We might vote them out, Buzz, but they’ve packed the courts..we are stuck for years…years!

Build the public support, the courts may actually have to moderate or face the possibility of Constitutional Amendments that the ‘federalist’ ( see legal knuckle draggers) woud probably not like. Was the Dred Scott decision the last word on the legitimacy of slavery?

I was woken out of a sound sleep this morning, and my first thought was that my bedroom was demonically possessed as my bed was doing its very best to toss me out. After my wits returned, my next thought was “I’m sure the strongest earthquake in recent memory will only improve the situation in local grocery stores.” Even the Angel Moroni statue above the temple downtown dropped its trumpet. What’s next…locusts? I have to say, if you haven’t experienced an earthquake, we are hardwired to really, really be disturbed by it. It’s really creepy. Fantastic.

My disgust at Republicans has no limit. They’re only starting to respond to the virus because it’s interfering with their ability to profiteer off the American public. I really wish ppl would stop blaming the virus for the economic situation..yeah, it was a trigger, but all the terrible decisions in the last three years were the real reason for our current instability. It was going to happen..it was inevitable. Tariffs, tax cuts, loss of disposable income, rising costs…this situation now shows the Republicans have absolutely zero ability to govern, actually, an ability to destabilize and destroy the ability of government to help its populace. Geez..wake the F up America..stop voting for Republicans!

Bernie Sanders clearly bought into his own mythology. And that is what it is. The idea that he would have won in 2016 in a general election is a myth created by those who went out and voted for trump or Jill Stein. A self fulfilling prophecy. When he felt he was in the lead after the Nevada caucus, the first thing he did was go out there and shoot off his mouth about how much he admired Castro and Communist China. He is, one would hope, aware that Mao’s ‘Great Leap Forward’ resulted in a famine that killed between 30 -33 million Chinese. Competence in government matters. As much if your politics are left wing as it does if your politics are right wing. If Bernie Sanders can’t even work with the Democratic party, how is he going to accomplish anything with respect to global warming and climate change? Those are global issues. You have to work with, cooperate with people all over the globe.
I give Senator Sanders credit. The Democratic party since 2016 has actually embraced some very good forwarding looking policies. Most people, probably rightly so, credit Bernie Sanders with that shift and momentum. He has made his mark.
But raising the issues isn’t the same as getting it done. Getting it done, in our counrty where consent of the government is the touchstone of our society, requires building political consensus and getting the votes. I don’t think Sanders can do that. I think Joe Biden possibly can. Time to pull together and support Joe Biden with all our might. Get commitments, sure. But it’s time to start campaigning against the gop and trump. They and now the courts that Moscow Mitch is busy packing are going to be the obstacle to returning to normalcy and positive change that betters people’s lives. Joe Biden could, indeed, be the next FDR. Let’s get it done.
