    From the Guardian..

“The attack by Trump and his administration on every one of the pillars of American society, and his especially aggressive vilification of the country’s truth-seeking institutions, jeopardises its continued prosperity and very ability to function as a democracy. Nor do there appear to be checks on corporate giants’ efforts to capture the institutions – the courts, legislatures, regulatory agencies, and major media outlets – that are supposed to prevent them from exploiting workers and consumers. A dystopia previously imagined only by science fiction writers is emerging before our eyes. It should give us chills to think of who “wins” in this world, and who or what we might become, just in the struggle to survive.

I’m starting to redirect my anger at the Americans supporting the Republicans..let’s assume that big business etc want to bend us over, so, it’s only natural they act according to their nature..see the story of the fox and scorpion crossing the river. Unless we “destupify” Americans, we are screwed. Already feels too late. This blatant illegality being justified or covered up in equal measure every day is really killing me. Sigh..

I we are simply losing at this point.

    • Ziggy Blue

We may be losing, I don’t know for sure. But, I DO know that we can “never give up; never surrender.” It was a long drawn out battle to get rid of Nixon, so “you know it don’t come easy.” (Ringo Starr) I have faith that justice will, eventually, prevail. If not, the USA is over and done with. I refuse to accept that.

It’s depressing me that the media is not staying with the stories about Rump’s corruption, his crimes, his lies, his instability..there’s a f’in headline at the Guardian today “Is Trump A Rhetorical Genius.” ? I don’t think that word has any place in describing Rump…

  • WTF…seriously, who is saying the country doesn’t want impeachment?!?! Where is that coming from? I don’t care what the people want. Congress should do what our democracy needs. I agree with Bob. We CANNOT let this standard of behavior become the new normal. If we can’t impeach this turd of a human being and establish the line of what is NOT okay, then our grand experiment is over. And I would argue that the outcome of Watergate made us weaker, not stronger. The power of the Executive only became stronger after Nixon, not less.

    • Sadly only 37 percent of voters want the Democrats to move forward with impeachment. Mass delusion out there.

      • Don P

OTOH Bob, a great way to demoralize your base is to let them know you won’t fight, even in the face of the most obvious of corruption. This is the Jill Stein factor tines a million.
