Look at this. Sarah Palin can see Putin from her dinner table. Or at least Putin’s puppet.

  • The thing that was so bad about “Armadagate” is that people around the world were holding their breath thinking that a nuclear war might be in the offing. Many people were genuinely fearful. Ultimately if Drumpf does something that gets us all killed we’ll never see it coming because you can’t trust anything that comes out of his puckered asshole of a mouth. So there’s that.

  • I have a theory that Melania avoids the WH not only because being around Herr Gropenfuhrer is too horrible to contemplate but also because she doesn’t want to draw the attention of ICE.

  • katanahamon

Around 54′ was that Blueglass’s cat meowing when she said “sane”..? Just wondering…

  • katanahamon

Had to listen to the show again..thanks boys and girl for an entertaining show. I think the left needs to get the facts of what Rump and the Repubs are actually doing with their money, and the fact that they are giving the one percent all the money by mortgaging America’s future, because Rump is definitely the salesman for this pyramid scheme they are running. So, the only way to combat them will be to inundate them with the facts…somehow..

  • katanahamon

The whole “armada” issue demonstrates why Rump shouldn’t be president. If it had provoked North Korea into shelling South Korea there would have been thousands if not millions of casualties. So, now they’re just blowing it off like it’s nothing, but this is proof positive that Rump needs to be removed as soon as possible.

  • katanahamon

Rump did not want to actually be president..the Repubs only went along with it because his polling was so high and they didn’t field a decent enough candidate to beat, now we are screwed. Rump only cares about making money for his brand and looking tough. Now, the Repubs are mortgaging our future giving themselves tax cuts and gutting the safety net. What’s really funny (or sad) is that Rump et al are still having rallies and convincing the rubes that being absolutely screwed is ever so good for them.

Yeah, obvious to us, not obvious to Rump supporters.

Wikipedia sez: “From the 1950s through the 1990s, Harvey’s programs reached as many as 24 million people a week.” That’s not forever, but it’s a darned good run in any career.

Bill O’Reilly will get an eight-figure severance check and Jason Chaffetz will spend the next year or so warming a chair at a Righty think tank before he runs for governor of Utah. It’s good news that they’re going away (temporarily), but they’ll land on their cloven hooves, never fear. We’ve not heard the last of the two of them.

It’s not a surprise that Fox News Channel would disappear Bill O’Reilly: FNC follows the model of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, doesn’t it? This is a small-scale Чистка партийных рядов, or “cleansing of the party ranks.” O’Reilly’s lechery wasn’t the problem—Rupert Murdoch-owned newspapers tend (with exceptions like The Times) to have Page Three Girls, after all, and FNC could have weathered a short-term downturn in ad revenues (if ratings for The O’Reilly Factor had stayed high, the departed advertisers would have been replaced). O’Reilly only became an undesirable when he endangered the Dirty Digger’s purchase of Sky Television.

Tucker Carlson, Moralizing Prick. He probably has that printed on his business cards.

If it’s ultimately decided that Fox News Channel is a drag on the rest of 21st Century Fox, it will be interesting to see how that plays out. FNC, as I understand the finances (which is to say, poorly at best, before anyone else says it), is subsidized by the rest of the corporation and wouldn’t survive as an autonomous or semi-autonomous entity.

I will never understand the attitude that women are valued only for their appearance. Of course, that comes from a liberal, secular, college-educated Californian; your mileage, as they say, may vary.

Rachel Maddow is a remarkable storyteller. Getting from Hostess cupcakes to Bill O’Reilly’s sexual harrassment—or from Princess Cruise Lines to Bill Kristol’s perpetual wrongness—is hilarious and a very impressive skill.

Bill O’Reilly did not write that farewell statement. I refuse to believe that. It was written by a 21st Century Fox PR or maybe his lawyer. No frelling way did O’Reilly leave with anything like that sort of grace and equanimity. (I imagine O’Reilly barricading himself in his office, having to be shot with tranquilizer darts by security, then being carried out of the building in a straightjacket, screaming and spitting.)

I’ve seen a few photos from the Arsehole Summit, and Gott im Himmel!, that’s a truly tacky bunch of humans, including the gurning orange fellow in the middle.

“The whole photo op was just a big trolling.” Of course it was. The funny thing is, I doubt much of the Left is particularly outraged! about the unspeakable Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent and Kid Rock—Kid Rock, I ask you—being in the Oval office. The reactions I’ve seen have been rolled eyes, not apoplexy.

The GOP muckety-mucks didn’t burn that second set of books. What happened was that they lost control of The Base, first with the Tea Party (yes, yes, There Is No Tea Party) and then with Donald Trump. The party jefes aren’t sure how to deal with the unwashed hordes who’ve taken over (John Boehner threw up his hands and walked away) and are making the routine looting of the public treasury more difficult.

Dick Cheney is a political creature who cares about building up the GOP and accumulating power for the party. Donald Trump is a perpetual arriviste who cares only about his personal brand and lining his pockets.

Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III is a gibbering simpleton. “An island in the Pacific”? Predictable, but yikes.

North Korean rhetoric has gone downhill lately. I guess all the good sloganeers were insufficiantly loyal to the Outstanding Leader or something. A “super-mighty preemptive strike” sounds like self-parody. And no, I shouldn’t laugh. North Korea is a nuclear power, sorta. Lucky for us, Mike Pence will keep us safe by standing at the edge of the DMZ and looking constipated.

Rex Tillerson—the whole Trump administration, frankly—doesn’t know when to STFU (for example, when Kim Jong-un is throwing a tantrum).

As funny as the missing armada story is—and it is—our allies rightly find it alarming. The next president is going to have to do a lot to reassure South Korea, to name just one, that the US will be a reliable ally going forward.

“Is it a lie or is it just incompetence?” Both and neither. My guess is that Trump asked what he could do about NK and was told the Navy could send a carrier strike group to the Sea of Japan; what Trump wasn’t told was that the CSG would get there eventually, once its other scheduled activities were completed.

Good shows this week, by the way. (I should have mentioned that on Tuesday. Apologies.)

What Maddow does always reminds me of the Sherlock Holmes story A Study in Scarlet (I hope I got the story right. It’s been more than a while) in which the story suddenly flashes without explanation from Holmes and Watson to a previously unmentioned character on a long journey with no mention of anything that has come before. We follow his journey until his connection to the rest of the story reveals itself. Turns out his journey/story is what Holmes has somehow deduced from the evidence that he has already observed.

Are you familiar with this Mike C guy? Alt Right trash, in Austin to support Alex Jones during his custody trial. Goes around wearing a t shirt with Bill Clinton’s face on it and ‘rape’ emblazoned on it. When he knows tv cams are around, he pushes his way through and makes sure media catches him yelling that Bill C is a rapist.

    • Cernovich is one of the most vocal MRA’s online (Male Rights Association), which is virulantly anti-feminism and mysoginistic. They use certain acronyms and what they think are put downs like SJW – Social Justice Warrior or FemiNazis. Politically they are almost always conservative and often libertarian. They speak openly online about harming women and have harassed women online over the years. They were a big part of Gamergate and continue to hound any woman who dares to publicly assert herself. They have published women’s phone numbers and addresses online. Stalked them, forcing several to move and fear for their lives. Cernovich is an example of this ilk.

  • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

If you’re not familiar with who this Mike C guy is, google him. He’s in Austin apparently trying to distract from Alex Jones custody trial – wearing ‘rape’ shirts and yelling Bill Clinton is a rapist ..

  • BlueGal and DriftGlass 3 times in one week? I’m so over the moon. Thanks for making this happen Bob. Your styles really complement each other.

Bill O’Reilly Shouts Down Al Franken via @YouTube

  • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

If that pic above doesn’t pizz you off enough, here’s another one 🙁

    • Badgerite

It doesn’t really piss me off. The reason being that there are far more important things to worry about than such juvenile behavior by these kinds of idiots. Laws are what I care about. Not pictures. I have never cared much about these idiots. I never will care much about these idiots.

      • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Well maybe I’m more sensitive to it because I’ve been a fan of Hillary’s for over 20 yrs and sickened by the way she’s been treated by the left and right.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

How about an incompetent lie? I seems to fit best.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

Do you guys mean “Conflict with North Korea, brought to you by Disney”? Somehow, that makes sense!!

  • ProudLiberalAlways

Just an observation and a question———Palin looks kinda slutty to go to the WH., and don’t gentlemen usually remove their hats indoors? How Rude!!

    • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

This discussion was had on a thread elsewhere.. Beyond the obvious tackiness, the racist history of Nugent… since when is appropriate to wear shoulderless tops in and around the White House (except an evening gown)? As for the hats.. we discussed that too. My exp with that is dif etiquette in dif states. In Utah they wear the hat everywhere, inside and out.. places like Texas and maybe Wy and Montana, they are more likely to take it off when coming in doors, or at the table, etc.. I know these opposites exist at least in Utah and Texas.

They’re all classless trash so what do we expect.

      • BrownTown

I think you left out a few other things about Mr. Nugent. His Racist history is only a tease. And of all these Fools in the room. He’s the only one runnin a tie for 1st place in Scumbaggery. He and that Scumbag he Voted for are neck & neck. And Sarah Palins dumb self. Is just DUMB. And she’ll stay dumb. Kid Rock is’nt even relevant anymore. So good riddens. But “Angry Teddy” Lets see. Besides his Racist bs….

        1. He allegedly (which when it comes to him is most likely TRUE, and not alleged) , took a bathroom break ( Not a #1 but a #2), in a certain garment STILL ON HIS PERSON, instead of using facilities that are provided to a CIVILIZED Society. All so he TOO, could avoid serving his Country. But then live his tacky life draping his S***y A** in our Flag.

        2. He isnt, an “Alleged” Pervert who loves underage girls. He is a “Well KNOWN” Pervert. Who loves underage girls.

3.And the one that really shows the STUPIDITY of this Administration. He’s also a known the recipient, of a few Secret Service Visits.

And through all that. This scumbag stands in the “Peoples House”. While the STUPID MORON sittin at the Desk. And his STUPID STAFF. Continue to be, just as STUPID, as we’ve been sayin’ they are all along.

Im sure you can tell I cant STAND these people 😃 “Hash Tag RESIST!”

  • The book was “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.” And Franken titled a chapter, “Bill O’Reilly: Lying, Splotchy Bully.” In the chapter Franken relates a tale of how Bill-O went ape on Franken’s manager over the photo they used on a mock-up of the cover. Franken claims he wanted to have the whole cover touched up, but decided to use the original to get back at Bill.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

Bluegal put it very well——-she really nailed the definition of Fucker Carlson as a moralizing prick. The same thing he’s always been. Actually, no one even had to move aside for him to have the chance.
p.s.—I love you 3 together. Great show!!

    • Scopedog

“Fucker Carlson”–I must steal that! 🙂

  • Rae Rae

Always miss the live cast. I will make it one day!

    • BrownTown

Me too. I gotta get better 😏
