Agree with pretty much everything, except one. At what point were we taught that being the adult in the room meant not fiercely fighting for what is right? I keep hearing this point being thrown about by Dems and liberals (of which I consider myself one) that it is better to maintain our civility and manners rather get our hands dirty stopping the Republicans from inflicting untold disaster on millions. When confronted by an army of bullies one does not go out and attempt to impress them with eloquent words and proper manners unless one wishes to be massacred, so this whole “adults in the room” defense needs to be put out to pasture. I am coming to the uncomfortable conclusion that it is a cover to detract from the fact that either too many do not know how to fight for anything or don’t have the stomach to do it and want congratulations for it. In another better time, good manners and civility may carry the day. This is not that time and there is no one on the other side of the aisle (or among their supporters/enablers) that are going to be impressed by our manners. So it would be nice to see more fighters and verbal fireballs on our side ruffling feathers and taking names and fewer handwringers touting their high road tactics that are getting us nothing but losses. Such fighters are not just wanted, they are required.

The weather sucks balls here now. 119 yesterday, 117 today….It’s so hot the sky has turned a flat hazy white color and there are ozone warnings (ie, air quality is horrible). At what point does it become so hot it’s unlivable?

I started out in govt over 20 years ago with a Masters in Criminal Justice and have worked in public and private sector IT since….can personally testify that the govt is WAY behind in technology (except for the CIA and NSA). The way they show it in Hollywood it’s no wonder so many on the right and left are paranoid about the govt’s abilities. But the govt really isn’t that sophisticated (except for the aforementioned agencies). Every time I see on TV some local sheriff getting DNA test results, or they go to single computer to check someone’s entire criminal history, etc, etc, I laugh. It just doesn’t happen that way and it sure as hell doesn’t happen that fast.

Bob, in re: the election….if the Russians were able to remove people from the voter rolls or change voters’ polling locations (which we know the Russians tried to do in several states) then they did literally change who could and could not vote. The ONLY way to know if the Russians changed anything was IF the election boards have data back ups before the election and afterwards and then are willing to compare the two data sets and then willing to share that with the public. Of course, none of that will occur unless someone on the Federal level forces the issue. And we know that isn’t going to happen.

In re: to the Dems in Congress….Trevor Noah made an interesting point. They don’t scare people enough, which is just further evidence on how different the parties are. The Dems can’t bring themselves to tell the blatant lies (like death panels). They simply can’t stoop to the same levels as the GOP. So other than stooping to that level of dishonesty and manipulation, what would you have them do?

OMG. What Flynn was up to is truly alarming. Thank God they got him out of there fast.
    Ahh. “Witness flipping experts.”
    Music to my ears.

Will Rump fire Mueller? Why not?? Look how well firing Comey worked to stop the Russia investigation——I’m sure these are just the results he was looking for!! For what it’s worth, Buzz, I think, is right. Many rethugs would abandon Rump if he were to do that. That just might be a bridge too far!!!!!
