  • I’ve been on vacation and totally out of the loop but this Miller guy is such a typical Libertarian. Purposely misinterpreting what the journalists are asking him and moving the goal posts so that their actual questions are completely forgotten, he’s turned the Press Briefing into a High School debate. I really don’t think violence is the answer but this Miller guy is just screaming out for an ass whipping.

  • Badgerite

Jesus. As Kurt Eichenwald points out to the “ahistorical idiot” Stephen Miller, the Emma Goldman poem that was placed on the Statute of Liberty was written in “1883 to raise money for construction of the pedestal of the Statute of Liberty.”
So that would kind of indicate what how the public view the statute at that time. The poem was not an afterthought tacked on later.

  • First: “bigotsplain” is the best thing I’ve heard in a while. Nice.

Second – Miller was factually incorrect (surprise surprise).

Rump held another “rally” to proclaim the Russia investigation as “fake news.” Why are we allowing these likely taxpayer funded events to occur? We need the press to start applying some pressure..

  • Badgerite

trump is attempting to go back to his “favorite hits” repertoire. Miller and the new immigration bashing was the first salvo. I think this is what passes for a “major announcement” in their world. Same old re-fried immigration bashing but now with the new and improved English only ingredient added. Immigration bans. Not just for Muslims anymore.
(Note that the grievance is no longer about the threat of radical Islam. It has moved on to immigrants in general being characterized as foreign freeloaders who have the gall not to speak English and will end up on welfare. Or something. So far, that is two new categories in the casts of characters they have tried to portray as the ever popular “welfare queens”. People who “don’t live right” or who have the temerity and bad genes to be born with medical conditions that might require long term care and therefore health insurance. And now people seeking to immigrate to the US who might not be well versed in the language and are not rich. These are fascists, plain and simple, who want to close borders because they want to control everything. And putting up walls and shutting borders makes that easier. They remind me of the Peter Sellers character in Dr. Strangelove who cannot keep his arm from flying up in the Heil Hitler salute at inopportune times. )

  • The Yam actually believes his own hype about negotiation. I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but he is so lacking in self-awareness I really was when Bob read those transcripts from Trump’s calls.

Gawd, I feel like I owe a bunch of yams an apology.

    • Draxiar

You’re correct…trump believes his own hype and that just by virtue of who he believes himself to be that deals should automatically be made where he gives nothing and the other gives all. So when things don’t go his way he has a mental tantrum-fit. He will not accept being told ‘no’ because, well, he’s trump and that loopholes everything…at least in his mind.

      • Like I said, the phone call transcripts should not have surprised me because we knew all of this about Trump already! But here we are. Believe it or not, reading how Trump begged makes me hate him less. But my contempt for his supporters is a hell of a lot worse now.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

You must admit there is something so right about depicting Bannon as he literary personification of the state of non-being. It truly fits.
BTW, is anyone else concerned about the way Rump is militarizing our government, or is it just me? What if he loses in 2020, (God willing) and he doesn’t want to leave? Wouldn’t put it past him!

  • ProudLiberalAlways

You definitely have a point there—–if Rump wants Congress to back his questionable agenda, he really should think about not insulting them! I mean, it’s just basic.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

Creepy is right!!! Looking at the pic you have up, he looks less like Gollum than Max Schreck, (Nosferatu). Look it up on IMDB. He is it! He actually looks more like a troll from under a bridge.

    • Ziggy Blue

Yes. Yes. Nosferatu. I saw it in film class in college back in 1967. Of course….creepy.

  • katanahamon

The whole Miller interview was an excellent example of the complete intellectual dishonesty and argument style of those on the right that must distort, misdirect and outright lie to “prove” their point. They don’t have facts, or history, or majority of public opinion, therefor they lie.

President Obama would have been impeached six times already if he had done what Rump has done. Repub hypocrisy in allowing all the lies and illicit behavior, and family/inappropriate appointments is unbelievable.

Wow..those transcripts are horrific…Rump is an ignorant boor. Looking back at video of his rallies where he just basically lies and incites the crowds is so disappointing, so saddening that anyone could fall for his lies.
