  • There’s something even weirder than usual about 45*’s reticence, and I think it has everything to do with being at the beginning of one end game or another.
We’re at a precipice. What happens in the next several weeks will tip us either into full-blown Daddy State, or back in the general direction of democratic equilibrium.

Woodward’s book tells us how fucked up it is right now.
Nancy MacLean’s book tells us how it got that way, and what the Plutocrats have in store for us from here on out.
    Fun times.
    Embrace the suck
    Stay in the fight

Well, if Mr. Douche D’Souza believes that the fact that Dr. Ford’s drinking discredits her claims, then conversely “Bart O’Kavanagh’s” notorious black out binge drinking discredits his defenses (and his ability to sit on the Supreme Court). Then again, D’Souza would only apply these arguments to liberals or detractors and not to good little conservatives that fall in line. After all, he was the man preaching family values and the glory of evangelical Christian ethics while being married and sharing a room/cheating with a married woman not his wife at Christian conferences. And when Mr. Family Values was called out on it, he took absolutely no responsibility for his behavior and rather blamed getting caught out on liberals. It never ceases to amaze me that the adherents of the “Party of Personal Responsibility” all seem to believe that only applies to everyone else and not themselves.

  • Good show!

I would propose “Vote your underpants off!” OMG, I have to check out those sheets! Hot flashes are the worst!!!

I’m completely ignoring the polls. After 2016, I just don’t believe them any more. I’m acting like it’s life or death–because it is for our democracy.

    • katanahamon

Well, now we can’t know if the pollsters are trying to influence the voting and the election, much less if they are even accurate. I’m worried there’s no such thing as a “blue wave,” and the Repubs will be in control for the rest of our lives..

  • katanahamon

“How did they get in to Yale?” Well, imagine either someone who’s parents, grandparents or other relatives either went there first, or contributed large sums of money. Barring that, the dumbest loser can still get in if they possess yes, a giant sum of money. Yep..Rump is getting worse..his brain has some sort of issue, micro strokes, dementia, Alzheimer’s, lack of information storage.. Kavanagh is a demonstrated liar..yeah, this latest is just more wood for the pyre, but why aren’t we hearing about his lies anymore? I’ll bet bullets still won’t be regulated like opioids. I’ve harped about this many times, but as a person with several sets of steel hardware inserted into my body needing pain relief, I am required to go to a special pain clinic every thirty days for new scrips. First, having to pay a specialist fee, over 150 just for the visit, and sign an agreement that if ever called by the clinic, I must immediately come in to the clinic and have my meds or pills counted to be sure I’m not trying to divert them. Then the pharmacy charges outrageous sums for generic meds that have been generic for a long time. Meanwhile, these policies have not curbed the illicit use or sale of street drugs like fentanyl or heroin, but sure have made the pharmacies, docs and insurance companies a buttload of money. Oh, the latest thing is that they forced us to purchase two doses of Narcan, the antidote for opioid overdosing. More dollars for big pharma, pharmacies etc. Guns and bullets will never be regulated like that, but my meds that I need for pain, sure, let’s regulate that. Sorry..rant over. Til next time..
I hope there’s a “get out and vote” ad campaign for Dems out there..or we are in trouble.

    • I went to high school with the kids of some really rich and connected parents. In fact, the son of a bank exec competed with me to get into the Naval Academy. I had a higher GPA, was more athletic (but I couldn’t play sports because i had two jobs while he threw the javelin on the track team) and more ethical (he cheated on our 8th grade social studies final and got caught). I was nominated by a Democratic Congressman but he was nominated by Vice President Quayle. Guess who went to the Naval Academy to get a free $80,000 college education, didn’t serve any active duty as required, and went straight to Wall Street out of the Academy? Sure as hell wasn’t me. Scum rises to the surface in our society. Our meritocracy died decades ago.

      • mnpollio

Love the scum analogy, or as I like to put it “Sh*t floats”. I am uncertain that there ever was a meritocracy in the US except in the minds of the rose-colored glasses crowd.

How is it that the only people who are entitled to ‘reputational Due Process’ (made up term having nothing to do with Due Process) are gop. How come Hilary Clinton didn’t have a right to “clear her name” when it was being alleged she murdered a long time friend and alleged by none other than Bret Kavanaugh? trump actually came out during the campaign and said he isn’t saying Hilary Clinton murdered Vince Foster but “some people are saying” she did.
Those “some people” would have been Bret Kavanaugh. What an ffffffffing jerk.
He gets to “clear his name” the same way Anita Hill and Hilary Clinton got to clear theirs. He gets to “clear his name” the same why the guy he just alleged was the person who was with his friend Mark Judge and Dr. Ford and engaged in an attempted rape ( see horseplay). He gets to “clear his name” the same way Dr. Christine Blasely gets to clear hers after they have smeared her as a drunken slut, or someone acting on “recovered memory” or “mixed up”. That’s how.
In fact, the current defense du jour is to defame someone else. God. These people are truly awful.

  • Kavanaugh’s frat sounds more like underpants goblins.

You lied, Trump does not copy/paste anything on twitter because he knows nothing about ‘copy/paste’. The man is completely pc illiterate. He doesn’t know how to use a computer, he does not know how to use an email. They (someone) showed him how to use a cell phone. That’s it. Don’t forget during the campaign when asked about cyber security his entire statement was related to his 10 yr old son who’s really good with computers. He does not read websites or the internet. His staff prints out copies of favorable articles about him from rw websites and put them on the desk. I’d bet that 99.99999% of America has no clue how completely pc illiterate he is. He knows as much about computers as he does, politics, government, The Constitution, the economy, world affairs, world trade, etc etc etc.. you get the picture!
