Trump is not 68 yrs old. He is 70 and he would be the oldest man in history to enter the US presidency.

    Hillary is 68.

I don’t think there’s any way Hillary Clinton wins by 14 points. The Righties now professing to be Shocked! Shocked! by Donald Trump’s claims of multiple sexual assaults (have they not been listening to him?) will drift back in the direction of the Great Orange Hemorrhoid, and the weak-minded will be told they hate Hillary Clinton with the white heat (yes, you see what I did there) of a thousand suns and will decide they’d rather vote for Trump than that woman! Those people won’t necessarily vote with any enthusiasm and they may decide to punish the RNC by voting for anyone but the R down-ticket, but they’ll vote Trump. Good luck sleeping tonight, folks.

Of course there are more tapes. Mark Burnett says he can’t release any obscene outtakes (“if they exist”) from The Apprentice because legal blather waffle flannel, but there’s no reason to believe (a) such recordings don’t exist, or (b) that Burnett can control their release. Trump is what he is, which is a proudly potty-mouthed misogynist.

The RNC is in a pickle. Supporting Trump will make everyone who’s not already on Team Red head for the proverbials, but abandoning Trump will enrage The Base. I don’t feel at all sorry for the GOP, mind you; as I’ve said all along, you built this.

    Women for Trump. Good lord.

Chez, in past election cycles, Donald Trump wouldn’t have been able to finish announcing his candidacy before getting laughed off stage.

We’ve already gotten a preview of the madness that will descend on November 8:

During an event Tuesday, a woman rose to tell Pence that she was concerned about voter fraud handing the election to Clinton said that she would participate in a “revolution” if Clinton headed to the White House.

“I don’t want this to happen but I will tell you personally if Hillary Clinton gets in, I myself, I’m ready for a revolution because we can’t have her in,” the woman said.

Pence shook his head and waved his hand as he told the woman “Yeah, don’t say that.”

    What. A. Wanker.

Hmm. Maybe we’ve found an explanation for Trump’s extraordinary complexion: he’s been pepper-sprayed so often by women he’s groped that his skin is permanently stained.

If Fox News does play a Trump recording, the sound of heads exploding will be deafening. So will the screams when the Trump faithful resort to Second Amendment solutions against FNC headquarters.

Steve Schmidt was talking sense in that clip, but let us never forget he helped build the modern Republican Party. He helped encourage candidates to appeal to angry racists and toothless hill folk. His belated recognition of the horror he helped loose upon the nation is pitifully inadequate. Hold him under until the bubbles stop.

I was lucky enough to be at dinner with my brother while the second debate was going on, so I only heard a few minutes. I don’t think I missed much, based on what I’ve read since.

Our glorious news media—especially the gasbags who’ve had the title of Pundit conferred upon them—long ago decided to grade Donald Trump’s performances on a very generous curve. There was almost nothing Trump could have done to make them conclude he’d had anything but a good debate on Sunday, even if most of them couldn’t bring themselves to say he’d won. (Of course, they’ve also decided to crank up The Clinton Rules to eleven and break off the knob.)

Trump going after Hillary Clinton over Bill Clinton (and Hillary Clinton as both a wife and a lawyer) wasn’t intended for anyone but his supporters, who ate it up with a spoon.

Trump’s threatening vengeance against Clinton was simultaneously chilling and hilarious (he sounded like a fifth-grader failing to sound smart and tough). His trying to work the refs (“It’s nice. One on three.”) was simply ridiculous, and I’m sure Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper were having to bite their cheeks to keep from laughing out loud.

It’s amazing that Trump (“See, I understand the tax code better than anybody that’s ever run for president.”) doesn’t understand how the tax code came into being or how it’s changed or how it works. He even seems to have slept through Schoolhouse Rock‘s explanation of how a bill becomes a law (it doesn’t matter how “effective” one Senator is).

Bob, Barack Obama may want to join the Supreme Court in, oh, ten years, but not now. No way, no how, no sir. It would be a wonderful two-finger gesture at the Rs—and especially the Trumpettes—but he just wants to lead a quiet life for a while.

(Bob, you missed your fucking at 57:56.)

Locker room talk? No. No excuse. Trump also uses antagonism and confrontation against accusers, like it’s their fault for accusing him in the first place. He has no shame. Let’s just be honest..the racists and hard core right wingers are going to vote for anyone with (R) next to their name, so, perhaps we should say Trump’s behavior was awful at the last debate, they aren’t productive, giving Trump an officially sanctioned venue only legitimizes him, so the last debate is canceled. The American people need to regain some dignity from this debacle, and that is the first logical step.

  • Victor the Crab

Drumph deserved a vicious face spanking for his bratty behavior Sunday night.

    • katanahamon

It was the worst display I’ve ever seen in a presidential candidate. This whole episode is horrific.

  • Badgerite

    The Trump Monster. DIAPER BABY!!

  • Badgerite

Kudos to Steve Schmidt. About FFFFFFing time. Yes. Manifestly obviously UNFIT.

  • StripeTheGremlin

Hey Bob? Did you notice that John Oliver used your video game Boss Metaphor on his show?

    • Did he credit me? I assume he didn’t.

      • StripeTheGremlin

Didn’t catch the show credits so not sure there, but not in the segment. Having HIllary look kinda “Legend of Zelda” was cute though.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

How Goddamned pathetic is a 60 year man who feels compelled to brag to Billy Bush to make himself look like a bigger man? God, that’s soooooo pitifully pathetic!!! It’s instructive to remember he was not 12 at the time!

    • Don P

Trump was sober, a “billionaire”, had a top 10 TV show at the time, and his 3rd model wife was a couple months pregnant with his fifth child. And he’s trying to impress one of the lower lights of the Bush family tree.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

In Donaldland, it is said that a husband’s cheating IS the wife’s fault, because she obviously cannot hold the sexual attention of her husband——-to tRump, a mortal sin!! He also in one of the tapes with Stern called the pregnant Melanoma a monster she blew up so much, but that he meant monster in the best possible way. I think he used to be a big fan of Dom Irrera (sp)

  • They look normal but they are deplorable alien lizards in people suits. Imagine the desperation they feel about change in this country. They are so scared of what has been happening that they are willing to put an immoral fascist ahole in the White House because they are naive or ignorant enough to think that he will do their bidding and their bidding alone.

I agree the post mortem of the election is going to be depressing–hell is depressing now. But as two white males you have to understand that many minorities and women were not surprised by the rise of Herr Drumpf primarily because they’ve all known this was the underbelly of this country. We live in a profoundly racist and patriarchal country. I love my country but I have to say, we SHOULD have known this was possible. But like you, and most white Americans, I didn’t WANT to believe it. Ever hear of the comedian of Bill Engvall? Well’s here’s our sign.

Regarding her praising his kids…it was pretty ironic because Drumpf didn’t raise them, their mothers did. The author of his biography said he spent little to no time with his wife and child during the year he spent with him.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

Maybe tRump should have been told the old adage about not starting a feud with someone who buys ink by the barrel. Kudos to the WP for FINALLY doing their job—-the old Woodward and Bernstein would have been proud. (today’s version, I’m not so sure. Not about Woodward, anyway.)

  • katanahamon

His sniffing sounds more like he has lung damage or COPD, like he can’t get enough oxygen..cause I don’t really know what coke damage sounds like. Ugh..I wish you guys didn’t have to play his was traumatic enough once.

Trump is never challenged when he makes superlatives, which falls into my complaint category of “why have a debate if moderators serve no function and someone is allowed to lie and lie and…lie.” Yeah Chez..hearing him I have to go into another room and distance myself. (On debate night, I started screaming at my iPad, then rushed to the med cabinet and took Ativan…) Notice he never apologizes..he apologizes “for words.” Not actions, or the fact that he was actually wrong and repulsive. Trump was hideous..disgusting, abusive, lying piece of garbage, and to see him taken seriously and given respect by the moderators is ridiculous.

I think it was an abdication of responsibility to allow Trump to be so abusive during a presidential debate. Why have a debate at all if the information is all lies, Trump is so abusive…yeah..already commented on that.

What was with that audience? What is wrong with America?????

Dumbest questions ever for a presidential debate. I think Chez is right about meme culture..this idea of everyone taking naked selfies and acting stupid on the internet, it’s translated to “let’s all be stupid together, it’s great.” Trump doesn’t deserve a platform because he is an unqualified jackass. But..that’s what we’re stuck with.

  • katanahamon

Before I even listen to the whole show…

    Cancel the last debate.

For God’s sake, cancel the last debate. Trump is abusive, he has nothing productive to say, he wants a venue to vent conspiracy bullshit, and given how things are going, all bets are off for Trump’s future behavior. That debate was the most disgusting, horrifying public display, it lowered the bar for intelligence and fact and decorum, so..please…please…

    Cancel the last debate!
