Report: Trump transition ordered government economists to cook up rosy growth forecasts

  • katanahamon

I wonder if Rump has noticed yet that the “nuclear football” that he was given by the secret services is just an old laptop with “missile command” installed on it…

  • katanahamon

Now he wants to go to Florida and have a cheering crowd, (pep rally..good grief..we have a president throwing fucking pep rallies…) where he can say absolutely any lie and get the mentally deficient to cheer him on..disgusting, and so inappropriate for a president. One can only hope that there are more protestors than attendees. How much is this personal vanity session costing the American people?

  • Dr Complexity

In my opinion, sitting in my office in SE QLD Australia, Flynn was sacked for one reason only. He received a phone call from the Cretinous Orange Clown (COC)at 3 am regarding economics. The call became public and as I doubt that even the staffers of a nutter like Flynn are with him at 3 am, Flynn must have repeated the content and it made COC look foolish. This can never be accepted and Flynn was gone. COC doesnt give a fuck about contacts with the Russians.

    • Well given how nutters Herr Hair really is, its as good an excuse as any other.

IT’S IMPERATIVE YOU ****ALL**** TAKE THIS WH POLL ABOUT THE MEDIA!!! – share it spread it… and this is important- read it carefully! they try to twist wording and confuse you when you answer the questions.. please everyone take this poll and spread it around

warning: wait until you see these questions.. you won’t believe it…

^^^ it’s an official poll on potus website!

    • The questions in that poll suck. Some make no sense, like this one:

      14. Do you believe that contrary to what the media says, raising taxes does not create jobs?

I answered the questions as best I could but in the contact info I put for my name “Noway Iamgivingyoumyinfo” with an email of “”. Truck Fump!

      • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

some of them twist the topic into double negatives so you don’t know right away whether to choose “yes” or “no” … and i assure you that is intentional on their part..

#5 gives you no option to choose “none of the above” which i thought was pathetic..

as for the ques that require a written answer, i pretty much told’em to go fk themselves in every single one 🙂

  • BTW, saying someone hijacked your Twitter account and sent out something bad should now be called “pulling a Weiner” /snort

  • I find it very strange that the Media is totally accepting the Administration’s word about the fact that Pence is completely innocent of the Russian scandal. They have lied about everything else. But the media is just swallowing it whole. Maybe it’s because they are so desperate for stability that they’re willing to put him up as an alternative and to do that, they need him to be clean.

All along I’ve kept thinking that something would at some point happen that the stalwarts of the GOP (like McCain, Graham, etc) would finally say ‘that’s a bridge too far’ but it just keeps getting worse and worse. No matter how batshit this guy is, they aren’t going to do shit. They need to find a smoking gun in Drumpf’s tiny little hands so they can have enough cover with their crazy ass base.

What he’s going to do in North Korea?!?! Good gods what is in that twisted fucking sponge of a brain of his?!?!

BTW, I LOVE that “ma na na na” song…I’ll burst out singing it with great enthusiasm without warning just to make my kids laugh. Too funny.

Speaking of gaslighting…can you imagine what it must be like to be in a relationship with someone like him? There’s been tons of speculation about why Melania often looks so unhappy and some speculating that he is abusive. I would say that he never has to lay a finger on her because just being around him is mental abuse. The contortions one has to go through to be with him must be exhausting. Now the whole country is cringing like an abused wife because he’s gaslighting an entire nation.

  • You can ease up on the “Russian spy ship” thing. That happens all the time, and has been happening for as long as I can remember. They used to be disguised (and referred to) as Russian Trawlers, but now it’s out in the open because everybody knows they’re not fishing or sightseeing. Plus, they’re in international waters, and every government worth its salt does the same thing.

It’s an extra effort at eaves dropping that the Russians have to do with a boat 30 miles offshore because Obama kicked out those 35 “diplomats”, which is another of the little games we’ve been playing with them forever).

The big problem there is that 45* said something like “I could shoot at that ship and blow it up but…” – and that’s what passes for being “very tough on Russia” with Lord Marmalade Commander (hat tip for Trae Crowder).

Carry on, guys. You’re doin’ good.

Drumpf family lavish lifestyles and world travel for personal family gain, is costing American tax payers unprecedented amounts of $$$ –

Where’s RW outrage? Trump family’s elaborate lifestyle logistical nightmare at taxpayer expense

    • katanahamon

Yep..also, how much will his little Florida pep rally cost? Completely unacceptable….

I didn’t bother with Donald Trump’s press conference with Benjamin Netanyahu, but everything I’ve seen points to a truly bizarre spectacle for an hour and a quarter (the hed at BBC News is “Trump launches stinging attack on media” and the deck is “US President Donald Trump has launched a ferocious attack on the media while defending his record during his first weeks in office.”).

Trump’s fans and voters (not always the same people) love it when he starts flinging his poo in the direction of theliberalmedia, but a lot of them think FNC is not all that different from liberalMSNBC.

Chez, I’m with you: Trump really doesn’t know—and, even worse, doesn’t care—what’s true and what’s not.

A President Michael Richard Pence would be a garbage fire, but arguably less of a garbage fire than President Donald John Trump.

I really don’t see Mike Pence, as terrible a human being as he is, as a catspaw of Russia. Maybe this is what passes for cockeyed optimism in the Age of Trump, but I see him as merely a theocrat. Make of that what you will.

I don’t think we have to worry about a President Paul Davis Ryan Jr, at least not for the time being. Trump and Pence aren’t going anywhere, and Ryan’s not going to precipitate a constitutional crisis because he is, however dimly, aware that being president means having actual responsibility that’s expected to be taken, and that’s simply not in his character.

“This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine.” Mercedes Benz makes fine-tuned machines. Rolex makes fine-tuned machines. Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney and General Electric make fine-tuned machines. Hell, Rube Goldberg and Heath Robinson created fine-tuned machines. This administration is not a fine-tuned machine.

Anyone who thinks disruption is an unalloyed good is delusional.

I’m willing to believe Trump is in charge enough to fire Michael “Unhinged” Flynn. I’m not sure he knows why he had to fire a crazy person beyond the fact Flynn was making him look bad, but Trump[ did it.

(Okay, that Jared whatever guy that Ivanka (Ohhhhh, Ivanka, if only you weren’t my daughter!) married says “holocaust” is a bad thing. Right. Holocaust bad. The generals (incompetent, need to replace them!) mentioned “nuclear holocaust” once or twice, so that must be a bad thing, too. Oh, poo, this thinking stuff is hard.) “Nuclear holocaust would be like no other.” (And he sticks the landing!)

Asking Trump for an opinion about something more consequential than the relative quality of taco bowls is a fools’ errand.

    “Three. That’s interesting.”

(h/t Aynwrong, who reminded me of one of the funniest line in movie history)

Chez, Donald Trump is used to getting away with it, whatever it is. That’s why he says what he does. Saying “John Baron” didn’t sound like him, saying he had an unprecedented Electoral College win, saying he won the popular vote, saying the rain stopped for his inauguration, saying “I love you” to each of his successive wives, Trump expects anyone and everyone who hears him to say, “Oh. Okay, then.” He gets confused and cranky when someone doesn’t immediately buy into his nonsense.

Donald Trump taking credit for the decent economy is the cock (yes, you see what I did there) who takes credit for the sunrise.

Vladimir Putin owns Donald Trump, and about now he’s probably wishing he’d kept the receipt. Putin was counting on Trump’s being easily- (and almost infinitely-) malleable, but hadn’t realized how truly erratic Trump is.

I don’t necessarily agree with every word, but “Ugh” put up a thoughtful piece at Obsidian Wings about the IC’s (understandable) pushback against Trump, and points out the danger inherent in spooks making assessments of our own leadership. I hate what Trump has done (not much) and will do (possibly a lot), but there’s a real danger here.

Bob, there have been no background checks of cabinet nominees, no pre-nomination screening to speak of. We can expect other Trump nominees to have to withdraw their names from consideration in future. This is what happens when a “disruptor” is elected.

The first campaign event of 2020 is going to occur 47 months before the election. That thought makes me want to puke.

(Bob, you missed Chez’s fucking at 32:03)

Jared Kushner Reportedly Met With Senior Time Warner Executive to Complain About CNN’s Coverage

  • ProudLiberalAlways

I’m not so sure that we can survive a president who governs by “crowds”. Or is it by crowd size? Chez is right WE NEED A DO-OVER!

You know, if Jason Chaffetz had shown himself to be even a little bit trustworthy, I might actually believe that somewhere, somehow there are people in the process of dealing with this disaster of an administration in such a way as to protect our intelligence capability and assets so that the country and our institutions remain secure, but nothing Chaffetz has ever said or done could possibly lead to such confidence in him or the GOP. Nothing.

    • katanahamon

He is the smarmiest Repub to come down the pike in a long while….

      • Badgerite

Yeah, so “It’s taking care of itself” doesn’t quite do it.

  • katanahamon

Not only does Russia not deserve the result of the election, the Repubs don’t either. They have done nothing in eight years except prove their incompetence and outright harming of the US through their absolute obstruction of President Obama. They lied, and lied, and lied, and…LIED throughout the campaign and used every nasty trick in the book against Hillary Clinton, meanwhile their hypocrisy knows no bounds in the requirements they held her to as opposed to Trump. (She’s coughing? Her server? She fainted from pneumonia? Oh yeah..that’s some serious stuff…) The election needs to be thrown out, or simply awarded to Clinton as she won the popular vote.

Where are the investigations? Clinton’s server didn’t involve a foreign power interfering in our internal processes, so, where are the investigations? How many Benghazi investigations were there? The Repubs are abdicating all responsibility and flirting with treason at this point. Rump needs to be prosecuted for paying off officials to not investigate his fraudulent university, and many of his other crimes which apparently are just going completely ignored. Everyone knew he was a fraud and a criminal, and thought “well, it’s just an entertaining joke and he won’t really win anyway..” and yet at every turn he was utterly facilitated all the way into the Oval Office, despite his lying and horrific performances at the debates and his rallies.

When will the press stand up to him and make these public debacles impossible for him? He’s an utter embarrassment and now, now has proven to the world that we have allowed a crazy person to have control of the most frightening nuclear arsenal in history. If the press would require the truth, he couldn’t get away with this stupid public bullshit. He needs to be verbally flailed until he runs away and never repeats this. The press cannot treat him with the respectful kid gloves normally accorded to a “normal” president, because he’s not acting in a respectful manner..he needs to be shut down, every single time he tries to stand in front of the cameras and lie his ass off and subvert the “actual” truth…and soon.

Trump’s attitude towards proof that he and his campaign colluded with Russia:
