I saw this at John Aravosis twitter site and thought that maybe one of the best ways to honor the memory of Chez Pazienza is to recommit to fight against the Clown Dictator
and his Team of Deplorables as hard and as fiercely as we can. So.

I Tweeted you this morning, but wanted to elaborate a bit… Being my birthday weekend, we headed to Chicago to celebrate. During the drive up, we listened to Thursday’s show. Something rang true when Chez was speaking about being “burned out” on covering the Trumpster Fire. I heard a truly dark tone, but it’s Our Eeyore, so I didn’t think too deeply. Somehow, I missed the news over the weekend and awoke to Mama Steph crying on-air and had to rewind because the Free Speech TV broadcast cut out momentarily. When I heard why, I broke down, too. Chez died ON my birthday while I was at Brunch with my friends. Unfortunately, we had another friend dealing with the same thing this week – his 2nd sibling to succumb to the evil “H”. Damn that cursed drug! I will be donating exactly $25 to Chez’s GoFundMe in memoriam of the day we will share for the rest of my time on this planet. Also, just purchased his book using the B&C Amazon link. I hope all the fans will consider doing the same. Much love & ((HUGS))!!!

So disappointed to find out what happened.. but after i went to bed i began to think something’s not kosher with all this.. and i suspected drugs was the issue.. I feel let down quite honestly. What a lousy 2017 this is..

Life, with hard drugs (the opioids, coke, meth ect…) is like a prolonged game of Russian Roulette.
For every decade of your life, you are adding one bullet to the cylinder each time you indulge.
In your 40’s you are playing with 4 rounds in a 6 shooter.
I didn’t know Chez personally, but I don’t think he thought of it this way. Just trying to kill the pain a little.
So bad for the people left behind….but for Chez, the pain is over and the work is done.

OMG what is happening! I just read that Chez Pazienza died on the 25th. WTF???? he was 47?? what happened?? I only listened to part of the show yesterday and assumed all is kosher around here.. I’m sad, I’m distraught, I’m confused.. what is going on.. god i am numb just finding this out.. They were just talking on their show the other day how all the good ones die,,when Alan Colmes died.. and now this suddenly? I’m just frozen with confusion and numbness over this..

I’ve been a fan of the Bob and Chez Show since back in 2012. When it was mentioned on The Professional Left podcast. Fell in love with it instantly. Chez was such a big part of why. His cynical view, his sense humor that could draw blood every time, his knowledge of the ins & outs of broadcast journalism and his humanity made him a unique, invaluable and irreplaceable voice. Most of all, he knew where to aim his outrage. He never picked the wrong targets. He targeted the corrupt and the hypocritical, the bullying and while he was no “Social Justice Warrior” he defended many of the same people that SJW’s did only with far more justified venom (Which made it all the more satisfying). Trolls had to beware this man’s wrath.

He was more than that though. He was someone who wouldn’t hesitate to drop the armor and sympathize with those who deserved it. He was the kind of writer who let you know that on occasion, it was okay to hurt. Which is what I’m and a lot of us are feeling right now.

Saying I’m going to miss his voice is a massive understatement.

    R.I.P. Chez Pazienza

As a huge fan of Driftglass & Blue Gal, I’m heartened to hear another fan discovering the B&C Show through them. However, I realized today that it was former-Producer Chris on The Stephanie Miller Show who turned me on to them. I had totally forgotten that! Chez’s passing has made me re-think a lot of what he said and the tone he used. We all have demons to fight and we can’t give up now! Viva la resistance!!!

Chez was cynical and brave and funny and grumpy and insightful. He adored his daughters (listen to his voice whenever the subject of Inara came up), loved his fiancée (listen to his voice whenever Taryn’s name came up), and was by all accounts a good and loyal friend. He knew just what to say to make Bob—and the rest of us—laugh hysterically.

    Chez was … Chez.

Condolences to everyone who knew Chez. He’ll be sorely missed.

    I am so sorry, Bob.

    We love you.

    We’ll always love Chez.

  • katanahamon

Oh my god! I’m so sorry!

    Bob….my condolences…!

Please take care of yourself, all of your listeners are with you and sending you good thoughts….

We so desperately need Chez’s savage commentary and brutal wit these days. The Bob & Chez Show and After Party has been a pleasurable routine part of my daily life for years. Both Bob and Chez are my age, grew up with the same things, watch the same shows, listen to much the same music…all the cultural touchstones that Gen Xers claim as theirs. These men would likely be my friends if we knew each other on a personal level. To lose one is mind shattering, soul crushing, and heartbreaking and I’m having a real hard time processing that Chez, a friend I never knew, is gone. It’s the things he won’t be saying and the insight he won’t be offering- his ability to cut through horseshit with laser knife precision- that haunt me. Today I am sad for his family, friends, and those who loved him.

  • Sardonicuss

So sorry to hear about Chez.
Have been a fan of the podcast since the beginning – a place where Chez’s humor tinged with just the right amount of grumpy cynicism were the most relatable part of every show.
    So out of the blue.
Thoughts are with his family and Bob.

today major news outlets blocked from entering private press briefing.. you really need to do a daily show!

  • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

ok the comment about Tom Brokaw was a little crass, even though he’s a Republican.. he’s been fighting cancer for a few years now.. afterall.

Hannity (as Lou Costello) visits Sassy Trump in the Oval Office. Magnificent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ginroxoBOZU

Follow the process that Michael Moore has suggested. Contact one of the Clown Parade every day. See his website.

  • When listening to Chez talk about the way that the Press grasps onto anything decent that the Orange in Chief does because everything else is so horrible, it made me think of abuse and specifically torture. The victims gratitude for any nice behavior is why Good Cop/Bad Cop (ie, the Reid Technique) often works so well. The first part of it is to isolate the victim. Drumpf has us all by the nads as President and he knows it. And because we can’t all get up and leave the country, he has us “isolated” to a certain degree. The bad cop behavior is called Maximization and the good cop behavior is Minimization. Narcissists and sadists use these techniques instinctively. If you really want to break someone, you make the good and bad behavior as random as possible. Drumpf isn’t that conscious about it but some Narcissists are very much aware of their manipulation tactics.

POTENTIAL Game of THRONES SPOILER BELOW, if you haven’t watched Season 4 or beyond, do NOT read further…..

(if you’re a GOT reader/watcher, you’ll notice this pattern with Theon and Ramsay–remember the bath scene when Ramsay is kind to Theon? He was so stunned and incredibly grateful. A lovely bit of acting there with all of these feelings, confusion, fear, gratitude, wonder, etc, occurring in Theon’s eyes)

The Republicans goal is not to “wipe the Obama years clean”. It is much worse than that. Their goal is to roll back all liberal progress by a good 80 years to the days of the robber barons.

  • Great point on the Obamacare polling thing.

You’re exactly right – cohort matters. If you don’t control for the DumFux factor, you get a nice fat talking point that the GOP will use to fog it all up. The other side tho’ is that even without controlling for the DumFux factor, the thing is polling in positive territory now.

So in an argument, you’ve got a double slam. Polling only those getting some help thru Obamacare, the approvals are sky-high. And even when you throw in everybody else (many of whom have simply been trained to hate anything identified with Obama – like you said), the approval number is still north of 51% – and trending up, btw.

Nicely done. I love getting tips I can use in my weekly barroom debates or the next Town Hall.
(Speaking of which, I still haven’t seen my check yet. I know you’re busy and I hate to bother you, but could you ask Mr Soros when I can expect that?)

    You’re doin’ good, guys.

Only hope for American foreign policy is to send President So Called golfing and keep President Bannon out of it and let people like McMasters, Mattis, Kelly, and even Pence handle it. McMasters seems to be the opposite of Bannon. Not stupid and all. Professional and competent and intent on bringing in people with similar characteristics to the NSC. So. There’s that. Maybe they can keep the Bannon cabal in check.
How do things get better? The trump monster goes golfing a lot. And quits letting people do selfies with the guy who carries the football. Jesus. We are all going to die.

  • Dr Complexity

Complex Systems theory would suggest that the system will self adapt if the inter-connections become rich and deep enough. A phase transition will occur. Keep up the rage Oh You Americans who gave us the Orange Clown. Keep up the rage and the system will self-adapt. Of course the result is not predictable!

That Alan Colmes was willing to go on Fox News Channel and spar with the loonies, knowing he was preordained to lose, is a measure of the man. We need more fearless people. Ave atque vale.

White House staff have to jingle keys in front of Donald Trump to keep him from throwing tantrums on Twitter. Lovely. I feel much better now.

I can understand outlets like Dead Andy and Infowars being willing to tailor their stories to give Trump a happy, but doesn’t FNC pretend to be an actual news channel? Even considering Fox is effectively the GOP Press Office, doesn’t anyone there think this sort of thing will damage the credibility of both the channel and the talent?

Bill O’Reilly, someone who writes simple-minded historical claptrap for simple-minded people, doesn’t seem to realize that, for most of our history, newspapers tended to be mouthpieces for one political party or another. Hell, it wasn’t until the past sixty or seventy years that the notion of objective journalism even existed. The Founders professed their undying hatred of factions, then promptly went about creating political parties. O’Reilly is a boob.

HR McMaster has the benefit of being, to all appearances, sane. That’s a relief, but it’s not worth celebrating, especially since KT McFarland is still Deputy National Security Adviser. What’s the over/under on how long he lasts?

“Their whole thing is to bring down the responsible media.” Absolutely. Nothing would make James O’Keefe prouder than to be able to take credit for that.

Russian hacking had an effect on the 2016 election; we need to have countermeasures in place long before the 2018 midterms (James Comey’s unprofessionalism also had an effect on the 2016 election, but we’re not going to be rid of him until he somehow displeases Trump). The SVR (Foreign Intelligence Service) and Vladimir Putin (and, for that matter, the FSB, even though it’s ostensibly the Russian internal security service) will have been emboldened by the non-response by the US government and will absolutely try again.

The argument that Russia didn’t hack voting machines is pure hey-look-over-there! misdirection. That is not and has never been the accusation.

I’m actually shocked that nobody in the GOP—or on the Right more generally—seems to have realized that if Russia can influence an American election on behalf of the R candidate, Russia can influence an American election on behalf of another party. Is it possible the collective intelligence and/or imagination of the Republican Party is really that stunted?

I’m can’t tell if Mike Pence is stupid or evil or just a Good Team Player (“My president told me to attack the ACA, so that’s what I’m going to do.”); I’m fairly certain it doesn’t matter. As long as he’s close to the levers of power and has even an outside chance of bringing about a theocracy, he’ll do whatever is asked of him.

Bob, being an activist is nefarious, if one advocates for liberal causes. Hippies are un-American, you know that. *eyeroll*

I’m going to go ‘way out on a limb and suggest the population as a whole is polled about the ACA because nobody at the polling organizations/companies understands the law or how it works, which has made it easier for them to be suckered by all the noisy clowns hollering that Obamacare took away their insurance! Of course, the polling outfits would argue the information on actual satisfaction is available in the crosstabs, but that’s a dodge.

Chez, the TPers and the Sean Hannitys and the rest of the Reagan worshipers are capable of truly astonishing feats of mental gymnastics. They embrace whatever presents itself as Authentic Conservatism™ this week, even if that means somehow simultaneously embracing Ronald Reagan and Richard Spencer. George Orwell would be horrified.

John Boehner is feeling liberated. Pity he never showed any gumption as Speaker (sure, he’d have been ousted by his caucus in a heartbeat, but there would have been no shame in it).

You’re right about 2020 (and 18), but I have a question for you—how does anyone keep up this level of alarm for 4 years? And, what can the average person do about it?
I think you’re completely right, Putin cannot be allowed to get away with this. The only reason Reagan did the crap he did was because (in my opinion) he saw that we let Nixon off the hook about Watergate. The junior shrub did the crap he did because we let Reagan and his Daddy off the hook for Iran-Contra. This very possibly happened this election cycle because shrub got away with his misadventures in Iraq. Every time they pull some crap or other, they try even more the next time!
I, for one, am sooooo very sick of this shit!!!

    • >>how does anyone keep up this level of alarm for 4 years

Paraphrasing Kramer from Seinfeld: as long as he keeps ringing the bell, we’ll keep making all the stops.
