Cenk..bleh..I watched the time evaporating wishing you guys would talk about more important stuff. Maybe you should have just given a brief overview, then just played a fast version of Cenk’s tirade, it speaks for itself. Nip it in the bud by giving them props for something (if you can find it), won’t cost you anything, and makes you more mature for extending reason and promoting solidarity.. We need all the left leaning media outlets, the circular firing squad isn’t good for any venue. Also hope you talk about the disintegration of Salon. Everyday shows (hint hint) would have taken care of immediate reaction to the debate. Sanders is a giant turn off as a grumpy old man, grasping at straws with repeating the right wing talking points. Plus, the complete unrealism about the mathematics surrounding his performance. I honestly think he is exhibiting some mental issues from age, and his health/longevity is a serious factor for not wanting him as the Dem candidate.

Benghazi..yeah..timing, etc, can’t wait to hear from you. I really admire Hillary for standing up to crap that Bernie feels compelled to bring up from decades ago.

So, Ted wants to ban sex toys, but promote the sale of firearms..makes so much sense.

  • Love the show, but too much time spent lately on petty topics and name calling. Plus any public protest that calls for the removal of money from politics is a cause to support not belittle. Regular Listener from New Zealand

How did I know “Where’s the plane?” would become a thing, Bob?

Cenk Uygur has a very public meltdown and people who point that out become targets of righteous anger? Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the Two Minute Hate the sort of thing the Right does constantly?

    “Democracy Spring”? Oh, good grief.

Twitter is emphatically not the venue for a serious argument about anything. What happened to Chez proves it.

Bob, the funny thing is, you guys are okay with dissenting opinions (provided, of course, everyone uses their inside voices). I’ve disagreed with things that have been said on the podcast and have been either studiously ignored or engaged with in a respectful conversation. The odd little community that has grown up around the blog and the podcast is also generally fine with civil disagreements. So anyone who feels lectured or looked down upon should bestir him/herself and type a rational comment in response, rather than having a moan on Twitter.

Bernie Sanders is right about voter ID laws. Likening them to Jim Crow laws is fair and appropriate. Alex Griswold’s stated objection to Sanders—that African-Americans support voter ID laws—is irrelevant, even if true. Most people, understandably, pay zero attention to politics and government apart from election years or when there’s a problem that directly affects them, and can’t be expected to give considered answers to pollsters.

Paul Song’s comment was muttonheaded at best. As you say, insulting Democrats on behalf of someone running for the presidential nomination of the Democratic Party is, let’s say, counterproductive. Good for Bernie Sanders for distancing himself from Song’s foolish outburst.

Yesterday, I described Ted Cruz as yet another anhedonic scold coughed up by the Right (SEE ALSO: Santorum, Richard John; Ashcroft, John David; Meese, Edwin III). It was Cruz’s job as Solicitor General to defend Texas’s (idiotic) law, but the (nonsensical) brief his office submitted to the federal circuit court was almost gleeful in its blanket dismissal of—by implication—everything other than what George Carlin once called “good old-fashioned, American man-on-top-get-it-over-with-quick.” And as tempted as I am to quote Craig Mazin on the subject (just look at his Twitter feed if you’re curious), I shall forbear.

Donald Trump is a clueless moron. Of all the freaking things he could have said about Pennsylvania, he chose one of the most infamous sex abuse scandal in the state’s history. (Bob, there are people who suggested Trump was talking about the statue of Joe Paterno that was removed from Penn State. Seems a stretch to me.)

Voter I.D. laws, not needed. Bill Maher said it best, I think, when he said “trying to govern with Rethugs is like rooming with a meth addict. You want to discuss real issues, like paying the rent, and they’re always screaming about voices coming out of the air conditioner.” Rethuglicons are masters at creating solutions to problems that do not exist!

Now every time I hear Cenk screaming “Where’s the plane”, I now flash back to Nicholas Cage screaming “Not the bees!”

So, how many dicks are in the above photo? Think carefully…

        Trick question.

        There’s only 1 dick and 2 dildos.
