A “libertarian government” could only work in a world populated entirely and exclusively by libertarians. By perfect, flawless, non-sociopathic, incorruptible, hard-core libertarians, who all think alike and who cannot, under any circumstances, be susceptible or vulnerable to any non-libertarian thought.

I’ve even heard libertarians say that, albeit not in so many words: Libertarianism would work just fine, if it weren’t for all these non-libertarians having non-libertarian thoughts and wanting non-libertarian things.

Anyone who believes in this childish fantasy after reading Atlas Shrugged, needs to read Lord of the Flies.

Is it just me, or does tRump have the relative attention span of a chipmunk? He seems to me to be incapable of maintaining a thought for more than 3 or 4 seconds. And by the way, if her generals and military personnel are “bad”, “dumb” ones, Where the hell did he find his???? You mean they’re brilliant, but they are not serving at the moment? Whaaaattt????????

  • ProudLiberalAlways

For a good, concrete reference for those who need it, tRump is Bart Simpson in front of the class, giving a book report on Treasure Island, which he never read. “It’s about a pirate”, he says, “And, there is adventure!” “And stuff happens!” He crumbled like a sugar cookie when teacher asked him the name of the pirate in the book. This whole campaign is tRump’s book report.

In honor of Star Trek I watched about ten episodes last night..

Bob..Chez.. Look at the episode with “Vaal”, the stone dragon head thing that the people worship and have to feed it with exploding rocks.. It’s hilarious because the makeup on all the people..looks just like Trump!! They’re all orange, with wackadoo hair…. Think the episode is “The Apple”..

Gary Johnson really doesn’t have a clue. He is talking about Syria as if it were Libya and it isn’t. The United States merely lent moral support to protesters back when there were only peaceful protests seeking nothing more than a loosening of repression. The Obama administration did not take a position against Assad until he started using chemical weaponry on his own populous which was a red line for the POTUS. Syria happened because portions of the country (Syria) rebelled when Assad did as his father had and sought to annihilate any opposition. Military or civilian. Assad probably would have lost long ago but for the intervention of Russia and Iran, both of whom have their own reasons for wanting Assad in power.

  • Aynwrong

Barack Obama is the President of the United States with whom one can reasonably agree or disagree. Vladimir Putin is a violent, dictatorial thug who invades foreign nations without provocation, wages a campaign of terror against the gay community of his own nation and murders journalists who are critical of his regime.

Naturally Trump thinks Obama is worse than Putin. Trump is a fucking moron.

  • Michael B. Conway

It’s gotta be The Syphilis, right? The Syphilis done rendered him null and void.

  • katanahamon

You guys should spread clips of that “I have a substantial chance of winning make America great again make America great again I have a substantial chance of winning” far and wide. Trump makes the most disrespectful and inaccurate statements about, well, I was going to say the military, but everyone, really. And for Lauer to sit there and allow him to get away with saying we have “the dumbest” or the “worst” foreign policy is ridiculous. It’s all ridiculous. Criminal negligence in fact checking…

    • Aynwrong

Just fire Lauer or at the very least NBC should announce that he will never be allowed to conduct another political interview again. EVER!!!

  • Badgerite

To be fair, I think with respect to the military tribunal remark, he is probably repeating some opinion piece that thought there should be a separate judicial process for rape accusations outside of the chain of command and the normal military judicial process where there is a perceived favoritism for the accused and a perceived bias against the accuser. Not that he would have read such an article but maybe his daughter did and mentioned it to him before his appearance hoping to make him look a little less horrible. Of course, I suspect that does no good whatsoever when he then offers his opinion that if men and women serve together than rapes will happen so his solution clearly is that the women are the problem. No women in the military equals no problem in the military. So,,,,,the woman’s fault. Of course.

    • katanahamon

Women aren’t the only sex getting raped, either…

      • Badgerite

Sorry. Didn’t mean to leave anybody out.

        • katanahamon

Not criticizing, just had my dad as a youngster enlisting for www two raped the minute he got there..so, didn’t mean to sound critical at all..

          • Badgerite

Sorry. That’s horrible. It is a serious issue. I wouldn’t trust trump to give a flying crap either way.

  • Badgerite

Oh, brilliant post over at Daily Kos by 8ackgr0und N015e. Just the title says it all.
“I’m confused. Is Trump a special needs candidate or an affirmative action candidate?”
    Just he opening paragraph:
“After watching– whatever the hell Matt Lauer was doing– I’m really confused. We’re told that the media is holding Trump to a lower standard because he has no experience politically. Then we watch while he gets spoon fed stuff. So either he is a diversity hire–because inexperienced people are under represented in the presidency, or he’s a special needs hire–because you have to give him special accommodations so he can perform as well as the other kids.”

  • Badgerite

I like Hilary Clinton because I like competence in the presidency. And Lord knows, she is the only one running right now who seems to have any.

  • katanahamon

Why have moderators at all if they have no input, or lack the intelligence to correct obvious lies? And doesn’t Lauer make millions of dollars a year? Wow..we’re really getting our money’s worth there…

Seeing the comments in every publication regarding Hillary, it’s very depressing to see people repeating the dumbest, most unbelievable claptrap designed to be propaganda by the right wing..and people like Lauer make it so much worse by normalizing Trump’s batshit craziness. Check out the story at Banter of Hillary’s presser..the clips are great. Hillary shows poise, intelligence, and exemplifies all the qualities we need in a president.

Clearly, Trump is showing signs of dementia. However, he’s always surrounded himself by people that are “yes” people, and would certainly not ever tell him to go seek a specialist to find out what the hell is wrong.

The media is emerging as a clearly guilty force of utter negligence. It seems that there should be a way for media to prosper while still adhering to their core principles of seeking the truth, instead of propping up a disgusting fraud like Trump, and normalizing him, while completely smearing a well qualified candidate like Hillary.

  • Badgerite

Oh my, could it be any more obvious. He is unfit and unqualified and there is something seriously wrong with his head besides his stupid orange ‘hair’.

  • ‘I can see a leppo from my front porch! Just went helicopter hunting for them the other day.’

Site migrations suuuuuuuuuckkkkk. DNS is the easiest and most common attack. What I just can’t wrap my head around is why the host company was vulnerable to one in the first place? And then when it happened why couldn’t they simply stop your site or even take it offline or still yet, take the whole server offline? Tell all your political blogging friends with sites to get a host that knows how to deal with this crap. A DNS attack should be child’s play to a good web hosting company.

It’s been bugging me (to a certain degree) that Hillary is being opposed by such doofuses. If she wins, the right will end up saying that she only won because her competition was so crappy. And once again, a woman will have achieved something totally amazing in our history and she will get little to no credit for having achieved it. While I recognize that such a reaction is just par for the course (FSM knows how many of my personal achievements have been attributed to someone or something else other than my own effort and skill), it still sucks. Still, at this point, I will take what I can get. Even if the election is a squeaker, as long as she wins I will be celebrating like a mofo.

Was it just me or did you hear a quaver of nervousness in Johnson’s voice? He’s actually scared of talking to Joe Scarborough. WTF would he be like talking to a genuine crazy badass like Putin?

Trump only cares about winning and that’s why he repeats it all the time. It’s the only thing on his mind.
I think it’s funny that you think Trump will know to brush up on what Aleppo is for the debates. I bet you could ask him the exact same question as Johnson and he would still not give any answer that makes sense–not now, not ever. He doesn’t care about the details and he hasn’t been studying anything except the skewed polls.

    Good show today!

    • Aynwrong

‘I can see a leppo from my front porch! Just went helicopter hunting for them the other day.’

I read the first sentence and had a good laugh. Read the second sentence, laughed again. Thank you for that.

Gary Johnson is, of course, the person whom Glen Greenwald should get everyone’s presidential vote in 2012 and Russ Feingold should have agreed to run with him, on a GOP ticket, as Vice President.
This was what Greenwald advocated in a visit to the University of Wisconsin during that campaign season.
So….that Greenwald guy has really goooood judgement. Or what.

    • GG a supposed intellectual supports the guy who doesn’t know what Aleppo is. GG has always been a Libertarian.

      • Badgerite

I remember long ago trying to point that out to some his minions who showed up in the comments section of this site. They insisted that he was a “true progressive”,etc.
He isn’t and he never has been. And the guppy suckers who do his bidding are not either.
