I laughed out loud when I saw that GG picture.

  • notoriousbob

I just want you to know that everytime I click the Banter logo at the top of the screen I say “dah delly bantah” in my head. Thanks Bidondi.

  • Bud Machado

US (Obama) given heads up about newspaper data destruction:

  • Victor_the_Crab

I look forward to you guys calling Dan Bidondi on your next podcast. That would be the funniest thing ever.

    • HilaryB

I especially want to see if he’ll speak to Chez.

  • muselet

I think the problem you two have with Glenn Greenwald is that you have a particular definition of journalism (as, it must be said, do I), a definition which doesn’t fit what Greenwald does. Greenwald has more or less said that he sees journalism as advocacy, which is—or at least can be—true (or trueish) as far as it goes, but there’s more to it than that. The old-school muckrakers were passionate advocates, but they also got their facts right. I.F. Stone would kick Greenwald’s arse off his spine for not bothering to understand his own story (let alone not bothering with inconvenient facts).

Also, in most news operations, editors have authority over reporters. Who the hell at The Intercept would dare stand up to Greenwald?

Gosh, I miss the days before I was consciously aware of Glenn Greenwald.

For me, summer songs mean early- to mid-career Beach Boys. Maybe it’s growing up in Southern California (less than 20 miles as the seagull flies from Hawthorne), maybe it’s the beach/surf/girls/cars lyrics, who knows why. My brain made the connection long ago, that’s all I can say for sure.

Gosh, I miss the days before I was consciously aware of Opie & Anthony.

A troll handbook. There’s a concept. Given trolls’ generally low level of literacy, how would that even work (lots of pictures, I suppose)?

Bob, you don’t mess with Fans. Full stop. Those people are nuts. The Simpsons‘s Comic Book Guy would be ostracized because he’s far too tolerant of canonical errors.

Cthulhu below, Bob, why? Do you hate us? Do you enjoy tormenting us? It is going to take a lot of time and unhealthy amounts of ethanol to get that voice and that … idiocy out of my head.

Gosh, I miss the days before I was consciously aware of Alex Jones.

Oh, come on, Bob, be reasonable. No flight instructor is going to let Dan Bidondi come near the controls of an aircraft. Once again, the New Oxford American Dictionary comes to the rescue:

    pilot |ˈpīlət|
    3 another term for cowcatcher.

    No other definition makes sense.

“Perfectly round.” Chez, you nearly made me choke on a mouthful of wine with that one. Congratulations.

Gosh, I miss the days before I was consciously aware of Dan Bidondi (but now that I am, by all means, work out the technical details and cold-call him).

    • HilaryB

Lol @ cowcatcher. He does say that he studied at Horizon Aviation though.

      • muselet

If he truly is a pilot, first of all, *shudder*

Second, I would pay good money to hear his conversations with air traffic control.

        • HilaryB

          Omg. I would too. 🙂

    • 1933john

Do you miss having a quiet lunch
at the Wild Goose on Aviation Blvd?

      • muselet

I’d heard of the Wild Goose but never went. Call me weird—you wouldn’t be the first—but titty bars just don’t do much for me (bars are okay, depending on the company one’s keeping, and I’m a big fan of breasts, but the combination leaves me unmoved, you should pardon the expression).

  • Lady Willpower

So many swear words made it through!

  • HilaryB

“Dear Media…” GG is such a narcissist. As if everyone is just waiting on the edge of their seat to hear what he has to say next.

I can’t even comment on that Alex Jones “tranny” conspiracy. I’m just sick..all of the crap. Lol.

Yes! Cold-call Bidondi next week! He’s running for office, so the Rod Islan listeners need to hear him speak on the issues. 🙂
