Boehner succeeded. He isn’t much of a Congressman.

The movie – Being There with Peter Sellers. Except the character in that movie actually talked in parables and made more sense than Trump. Trump just talks like some loud mouth at a bar.

    • McKinley

Was thinking about “Being There” too. But Trump is an ‘anti-Chauncey Gardener’

      But

        True.

Oh God. Hold the presses. Bidondi ‘thinks’ that the earth might be round. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

It broke my heart to read about Cecil. I’m really quite glad it was covered on the show. If Walter Palmer isn’t sent to some sort of prison for his crimes against nature (which is what sport hunting truly is…Cecil isn’t the first victim) or forced to pay a poverty inducing fine then I hope he lives a life of eternal inconvenience. For example: having his prosperous livelihood taken, always hitting red lights, restaurants always being out of the first thing he orders, loses his keys all of the time, gets flat tires, loses buttons from his shirts, backsplashed at a urinal, salsa falling from the chip and staining his shirt, sits on his glasses, etc.

Bob, Chez is right: you amuse yourself ‘way too easily.

Bob, everything Dan Bidondi says scares me.

I don’t know if Walter Palmer is a sociopath because he’s a lousy liar and sociopaths are usually really good at lying, but he’s certainly more than willing to let other people take the fall. The BBC story on Palmer’s killing of Cecil the lion that you referred to (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-33695872) is horrifying.

I hope Walter Palmer spends a very long time in a Zimbabwean prison for what he did.

Bob, Palmer will never understand. Never in a million years.

Donald Trump is merely the latest iteration of the Republican Dream Candidate: belligerent, xenophobic, proudly ignorant, crass, and a thin-skinned bully. Sooner or later, though, the short-fingered vulgarian will disappoint The Base just as all the other Republican Dream Candidates have done. Then it will be time to find a new Republican Dream Candidate to satisfy The Base’s collective id.

If The Donald were somehow to become the R candidate for President, he’d get the usual 45+ % of the popular vote. The Rs could nominate Charles Manson and he’d get 45+% of the vote. Let there be one catastrophic event anywhere in the world that plausibly affects the US and that the Rs can sorta-kinda plausibly blame on the Ds and we’re looking down the barrel of a Trump Administration. *shudder*

The Dan Bidondi Common Core Model Strap-On Dildo. Thatnks, Bob. How am I supposed to get to sleep after that? I only have three bottles of wine in the house, dammit.

The only reason the misleadingly-edited Planned Parenthood videos have the fetus fetishists in a tizzy is that they show medical professionals speaking unemotionally about things the Right finds icky. On the subject of the videos, alicublog commenter “Shakezula” has a suggestion I wholeheartedly support:

I think films of various invasive medical procedures should be shown in public places every day until people agree women have full autonomy over their bodies and promise to shut the fuck up about all forms of birth control forever.

I figure it will take 10 days. Seven days of films, three days for people to stop dry heaving long enough to agree to my very reasonable request.

Bob, the stats you quote about Planned Parenthood are impressive. They’re also irrelevant to the fetus fetishists. It’s not about preventing cancer or preventing unwanted pregnancies or diagnosing and treating STIs or saving lives. People like these lovely examples of humanity care nothing about any of that. As far as Righties generally—and fetus fetishists specifically—are concerned, if you’re going to have sex, especially if you have sex wrong, you should suffer for it. There’s a reason I usually call people like Rick Santorum anhedonic scolds.

“It drives them nuts.” Bob, that’s not a drive, it’s a short putt.

Dan Bidondi misuses one of the most fundamental tools science and philosophy have devised for evaluating the strength (insert gratuitous Lindsey Graham “strenth” here, if you wish) of a claim: asking for evidence. The much-lamented Stephen Jay Gould said, “In science, ‘fact’ can only mean ‘confirmed to such a degree that it would be perverse to withhold provisional assent.’ I suppose that apples might start to rise tomorrow, but the possibility does not merit equal time in physics classrooms.” The shape of the Earth falls into the same category.

I said this before, but I’ll happily repeat myself: if he’s truly a pilot, I desperately want to hear audio of ATC communications with Dan Bidondi.

Chez, several years ago, MythBusters did a show about the supposedly fake lunar landing and concluded, unsurprisingly, that there’s no evidence of fakery. Why is that still a thing?

Most importantly of all, Happy Seventh Birthday to the lovely Inara!

Bob sure loves his new Alex Jones button. Lol.

Happy Birthday week to Miss Inara. It’s always a joy when she drops by and says hi.

The movie that reminds me about Trump’s campaign is Timothy Carey’s “The World’s Greatest Sinner”!

    • Adam

Al Franken wrote a satirical novel with the same concept in the late 90’s.

One of the most interesting actors in history. He stole a scene by just being in one. Brando also tried to kill him with his bare hands I think.

If I can stop laughing at the picture long enough, I’ll play the audio.
