From the show: “The sperm goes in to the vagina …”

Bob, sperm goes in, sperm goes out. You can’t explain that! 😉

I had an exchange with a troll on the main site a couple of days ago (if anyone’s curious or just wants to induce a migraine, start here and work your way down until I threw up my hands). He (I assume it was a he since the troll’s screen name was “David”) was aggressively ignorant about contraception—even the definition of the word, which is apparently a thing among the fetus fetishists, since a letter to the editor in the Daily Fishwrap yesterday said pretty much the same thing—and reproductive biology, and proud of it. Unfortunately, that is the sort of person who gets a too-respectful hearing before the Supremes.

The definition of contraception does not and, at least according to my (informed but casual) research (hey, I’m a word nerd, I do this sort of stuff for fun) has never hinged on the mechanism of action.

“We can’t agree on the facts any more.” Yup, and the anti-evolution folks are even worse than the fetus fetishists in that regard, believe it or not.

“It’s not really about contraception, anyway. It’s about sex.” You’re right, of course, Chez. Just ask Rick Santorum (who is, as Charlie Pierce rightly says, a colossal dick).

I refuse to believe that Samuel Alito didn’t know full well that his narrowly tailored opinion in Hobby Lobby would instantly become broad and all-encompassing. No one, but no one, is that naive.

Bob, since you mentioned it (and because a little levity is called for).

Want graceless, petulant, shrieking hysterics? Take away Greg Gutfeld’s access to boner pills.

Meaningless poll, meaningless results. Anyone who takes polls like that seriously is an idiot.

GHW Bush might have been the last sensible R. Pity his son didn’t inherit that particular trait.

    Have a good holiday, guys.

Excellent advice. I’ll try to follow it in future.

There are so many good Bushisms. I used to have a desk calendar full of them. I bet Hobby Lobby loves this one:

“Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB/GYN’s aren’t able to practice their, their love with women all across this country.”
