CNN first reported this afternoon that the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) cloud service provider detected an attempt to infiltrate their computers yesterday and immediately reported it to the FBI.

According to the DNC, the attacks were an attempt to access their database of voters using a fake website designed to look like the real thing.

The DNC was alerted in the early hours of Tuesday morning by a cloud service provider and a security research firm that a fake login page had been created in an attempt to gather usernames and passwords that would allow access to the party's database, the source said.

The page was designed to look like the access page Democratic Party officials and campaigns across the country use to log into a service called Votebuilder, which hosts the database, the source said, adding the DNC believed it was designed to trick people into handing over their login details.

We don't know who is responsible for this, but I don't think we need many guesses.

Tricking people into willingly handing over their credentials to compromise their accounts and computers has been the preferred method of Russian intelligence for several years now dating back to the 2016 election. Just yesterday, Microsoft reported that they had detected and shut down an attempt to infiltrate anti-Russian, anti-Trump conservative think tanks using exactly the same methods.

The Russians never stopped interfering in our politics because Trump has continued to cover for them.

No, what you’re reading isn’t happening. If it is, it’s actually Hillary using her secret pizza parlor server in a clever ploy to make people think it’s the Russians.

      Actually, it’s coming from “Q” Head-shed located
under duh Beverly Hills Walmart on Rodeo Drive.

Well, to be fair, tricking people into willingly handing over their credentials is the preferred method of every hacker because it’s so often successful.

That said, given recent history, the soundtrack to this story prominently features balalaikas.
