The Secret Plan

Written by SK Ashby

So much shit has happened over the last 16 hours I didn't even know where to begin this morning, so I'll just tackle one thing at a time.

McClatchy reported last night that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn personally intervened to thwart a major operation against ISIS because it was against the wishes of the Turkish government.

The decision came 10 days before Donald Trump had been sworn in as president, in a conversation with President Barack Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, who had explained the Pentagon’s plan to retake the Islamic State’s de facto capital of Raqqa with Syrian Kurdish forces whom the Pentagon considered the U.S.’s most effective military partners. Obama’s national security team had decided to ask for Trump’s sign-off, since the plan would all but certainly be executed after Trump had become president.

Flynn didn’t hesitate. According to timelines distributed by members of Congress in the weeks since, Flynn told Rice to hold off, a move that would delay the military operation for months.

As we now know, Michael Flynn was a paid foreign agent for the Turkish government when he made this unilateral decision.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported last night that the source of intelligence Trump revealed to the Russian ambassador and foreign minister was the intelligence community's best source of information on ISIS plots.

The Wall Street Journal reported late Wednesday that the Israeli source Trump allegedly compromised is “described by multiple U.S. officials as the most valuable source of information on external plotting by Islamic State.”

The Israeli source has been informing the United States about the threat of ISIS using explosive devices on commercial airplanes, according to the report.

During the 2016 campaign, Trump said he had a "secret plan" to destroy ISIS that only he knew of.

Is this it? Is this Trump's secret plan? Was his plan to hire a foreign agent who would canceled a major operation against ISIS because a foreign government wanted him to? Was his plan to compromise the best source of information on ISIS operations?

Are we tired of winning yet?
