In other news, the average CEO now makes 312 times more money than average workers according to a new report from the Economic Policy Institute. Moreover, compensation for CEOs now even dwarfs the pay of other rich people.

The gap between the compensation of CEOs and other very-high-wage earners is also substantial, with the CEOs in large firms earning 5.5 times as much as the average earner in the top 0.1 percent.

Meanwhile, Interior Ryan Zinke says record-setting wildfires are actually caused by non-existent "environmental terrorist groups," not climate change.

Finally, the Wall Street Journal reports that Trump has rewritten an Obama-era directive giving the Pentagon authority to launch cyber attacks. Trump's version reportedly gives the Pentagon more authority to do what they want without interagency approval. And I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but if it comes from Trump it's probably bad.

Mr. Trump signed an order on Wednesday reversing the classified rules, known as Presidential Policy Directive 20, that had mapped out an elaborate interagency process that must be followed before U.S. use of cyberattacks, particularly those geared at foreign adversaries.

The change was described as an “offensive step forward” by an administration official briefed on the decision, one intended to help support military operations, deter foreign election influence and thwart intellectual property theft by meeting such threats with more forceful responses.
