Republican Party

The Last Straw

President Obama:

"Look, once a decision was made by the Republican leadership to have a party-line vote -- a decision that I think occurred before I met with them -- then I'm not sure that there was a whole host of things that we were going to do that was going to make a difference."

It set the stage for the next four years, actually. It was the vote, sure, but especially how the vote went down -- right on the heels of the president's gracious trip to the Hill, along with Rush Limbaugh strong-arming the cogressional Republicans. Bad faith, bad form. Bush Republicanism.
