Senator Barack Obama

The Sacrifice

From a reader:

$20. Whoopdie Shit, right? What can 20 dollars buy for a campaign anyway?

Obama's winning, he doesn't need my help. I live in Texas, the state's red as a baboon's ass. I don't matter. I'm not making a difference.

This is ideology that the republicans need.

So what does my 20 dollars mean? This 20 dollars wont help me pay my college tuition. It wont help me drive to my $7.50/hr retail job. It wont buy me 120 packets of Maruchen Ramen (that actually might be a good thing).

As a broke college kid, 20 dollars is tough to come by. However, a cause to believe in is even harder to come by.

For too long has the little man been tossed aside while the fat cats, corporations, and lobbyists dine on the sweat and effort of the American people. For too long has pessimism and apathy been the status quo. For too long has hope been swept under the rug and replaced by fear.

We, those who were so often overlooked, can finally make a difference. We can have our voices heard. Please, Mr. Cesca, keep driving people to give what they can. This temporary sacrifice is nothing compared to the misery the country would have to endure for 4 (or more) years under incompetent, fear-based rule.

Nothing is more important.

11 hours to go!
