They Took Our Jobs Subcommittee Chairman Jeff Sessions Will Focus on Non-Immigrants

In exchange for dropping his bid to be named the chairman of the Budget Committee, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has been named the chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security.

Under Senator Sessions’ oversight, the subcommittee will focus it’s attention on the most vulnerable among us.

“My focus as Chairman of the Immigration subcommittee will be to advance the core interests of the nation and its people. On no issue have special interests had a tighter grip than on the issue of immigration,” Sessions said, vowing to give voice to the working families and American workers who have been hurt by “record immigration.”

He immediately renamed the Judiciary panel “Immigration and the National Interest” — its original title was “Immigration, Refugees and Border Security.”

Somewhere in the Afterlife, George Orwell weeps in despair.

    That’s bad. This is hilarious:

Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) will be deputy chairman, Sessions said.

I honestly don’t remember “Diaper Dave” Vitter expressing much of an opinion about immigration, but I guess he needed to look like he was doing something in the Senate, and Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III needed someone desperate enough to take the number 2 (couldn’t resist) job on the subcommittee.

It’s a partnership made in heaven.
