Trump Regime

Things Can Always Get Dumber

I was going to say something snarky here, but honestly I'm at a loss.

Bloomberg first reported this morning that Trump was considering former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain for a position at the Federal Reserve and Reuters reports that Cain actually met Trump at the White House yesterday to discuss the position.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump is considering former pizza chain executive and presidential candidate Herman Cain for a seat on the Federal Reserve Board, a senior administration official said on Thursday.

Cain met with Trump at the White House on Wednesday, the official said. A decision on the nomination, which would need Senate approval, is not final.

Neither the White House nor a spokesman for Cain immediately responded to requests for comment.

Ah, memories.

For years we have been listening to the “very serious” Beltway insiders and pundits assert that having a “successful” businessman at the helm of the country may be a good thing and scoffing at the notion that a country cannot be run like a business. Now we have the undeniable proof that those recognized by the mainstream as “successful businessmen” should be kept far, far away from meaningful government positions. That most definitely includes our serial bankrupter in chief, but I am glad to extend it to the hopeful and equally clueless Mr. Schultz as well.

Herman “999” Cain. After what we’ve seen business people do in government I want career politicians all the live long day.

Herman Cain is mad as a box of frogs, but he was chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Omaha Branch, and deputy chairman and chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. On paper, at least, he has actual qualifications.

Cain also has a history of sexual misconduct allegations and paid a settlement to one accuser, so Donald Trump should feel right at home with him.

What the Senate will do could be an interesting question.

I just can’t believe people are even talking about trump’s reelection campaign, not so much as a possible thing, but as an ordinary thing. He seeks out people as stupid, corrupt, and/or traitorous as he is and people don’t even blink. Like it’s no big deal to have a traitor, a moron, an incompetent narcissist at the wheel. Also a terrible, terrible shriveled husk of a human being with no redeeming characteristics at all, and a petty, corrupt, vicious, vindictive character.

President Obama wore a tan suit.
