Trump Calls for Unconstitutional Policy, Again

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump appeared on Hannity last night, as he is wont to do, and he said we should deport American citizens that have "extreme views."

More specifically, he said we should deport people like Seddique Mateen, the disapproving father of the Orlando nightclub shooter.

“I'd throw him out,” Trump said of Mateen, who is a naturalized U.S. citizen. “If you look at him, I'd throw him out.” [...]

Whether it's racial profiling or politically correct, we better get smart,” he said. “We are letting tens of thousands of people into our country. We don't know what the hell we're doing.”

You cannot just deport American citizens, even if they're criminals; even if they're Donald fucking Trump.

To say that we're going to deport people with "extreme views" would mean deporting the overwhelming majority of Trump's supporters, his campaign staff, and the man himself.

Trump just called for racially profiling and deporting American citizens. That's "extreme."

I guess rich people don’t ever take Civics classes or anything. So as to have some idea of,,,,you know,,,,the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution and all. Just a little passing knowledge of these things wouldn’t hurt. Especially if they presume to make appointments to the Supreme Court.

  • And the hits just keep on coming…Can someone please write down a constitutional crib sheet on the palm of his hand. Love her or hate her, at least Palin wanted to look like she knew something.

Every time Donald Trump pops off on policy questions, I am reminded of one of my favorite lines from Bull Durham:

The world is made for people who aren’t cursed with self awareness. –”Annie Savoy”

Shorter Donald Trump: “Let’s just do away with that pesky First Amendment, shall we?”

  • No, no, no. You’re missing the point.

First, we’d need to send them to some sort of retreat or, let’s say, camp. Once there, they’ll be educated in the right way to be an American and, since they’ll have so much downtime, we might as well have them do some labor. They’ll thank us for letting them contribute to the American dream. Of course, with all the labor and all that education, they’ll really have to concentrate to learn everything they’ll need to know. If only I could think of a good name for such a place . . .

In any event, only then, assuming they survive, because accidents happen, amirite? Only then will we deport them.

This is an excellent idea!! While I, too, cannot think of a good name to call such a place, I have come up with what I think is an excellent slogan for these educational/work camps. Tell me what you think:

      “Arbeit macht frei”

Such joy in three simple little words!

It’s hard to imagine modern America getting behind something like this….

But it’s unsettling that it’s not impossible to imagine, either.
