Trump Hispanic Adviser Resigns, Others Consider Quitting

I can't muster much praise for someone who aligned themselves with Donald Trump in the first place, but for what it's worth a member of Trump's relatively new Hispanic advisory council resigned last night after Trump figuratively lit a cross on fire in Arizona last night.

Jacob Monty resigned from the board following the Phoenix speech, telling Politico that he was disappointed in the rhetoric Trump used in Phoenix.

"I was a strong supporter of Donald Trump when I believed he was going to address the immigration problem realistically and compassionately," he told Politico. “What I heard today was not realistic and not compassionate.”

Trump reportedly lied to his token advisory group, privately telling them that he would "soften" his stance on immigration. That was obviously a big fat lie and they should have known better.

So should our glorious political press. Trump is a pathological liar who lies every single day. Trump will tell you exactly what you want to hear and exactly what you don't want to hear within the span of few hours or even a single paragraph.

CBS News is also reporting that as many as half of Trump's advisory board are considering resigning after last night's white supremacist speech.

I don't know what his Hispanic advisers were expecting, but former Grand Wizard of the Klan David Duke was very pleased last night.

This can’t be repeated enough: When a politicians message appeals to and is endorsed by white supremacists (y’know, the types of people we’ve rightly vilified for over 70 years and showcase as a quantifiable evil) that politician needs to reconsider the message.

Last night as rational, decent humans watched in horror as The Orange Dictator proved yet again that there will never be a pivot, Ann Coulter called this “…the most magnificent speech ever given.”

40 years of Southern Strategy, 30 years of Rush Limbaugh and 20 years Fox News all comes down to the final product. A party made up of bigots and cowards who either need or will tolerate a racist dog whistle turned in to a foghorn.

Jacob Monty got suckered by Donald Trump, but at least he realized it and walked away from the Three Card Monte table, a sadder but wiser man.

As for Trump himself, he’d already gotten what he needed out of his subdued performance earlier in the day—a ton of Trump Acts Presidential! headlines from our glorious news media, which should bloody know better by now—so he spent his time in Phoenix reassuring his followers that he hadn’t in fact gone soft. Besides, it’s boring to be polite to one’s inferiors.

Josh Marshall sees Trump’s behavior as that of a cowardly bully, while Charlie Pierce says, “I’ll be back after I make sure they’ve fireproofed the Reichstag.”

    I’m leaning toward Pierce’s take.

The mainstream media are willing to deeptongue Donald Drumph’s asshole if it means it will narrow the gap in the polls with Hillary so that they can have their precious horserace come November, the fate of the country and the planet be fucking damned, because they’re as big a collection of soulless sociopaths as Drumph, the goddamn fucking scumbag asswipes!

  • Question: How come Bob writes for Daily Banter and doesn’t write on this site and JM Ashby writes here and doesn’t write for Daily Banter? Love your work JM. Keep it up.

“I was a strong supporter of Donald Trump when I believed he was going
to address the immigration problem realistically and compassionately.” With all due respect, how could he POSSIBLY have ever thought that?

“I believed he was going to address the immigration problem realistically and compassionately.”
      “And then I sobered up.”

    • Agreed. These people who support the Republicans and Trump despite the party and candidate being diametrically opposed to their very being (gays, Hispanics, women) drive me nuts. How blind can you be?

This is no ‘unifier’. This is an Orange Sociopath who is simply unqualified and unfit for the Presidency and probably a lot of other things as well.
