Iconic motorcycle producer Harley-Davidson announced yesterday that it would move production to the European Union (EU) to avoid the EU's retaliatory tariffs that were imposed in response to Trump's tariffs on metals.
In an official statement, the company said exporting bikes to the EU would cost them at least $2,000 per unit and shifting production overseas would allow them to continue selling bikes in Europe at normal prices.
Naturally, Trump lashed out at Harley-Davison today, once against demonstrating that he is a fucking idiot.
“A Harley-Davidson should never be built in another country-never! Their employees and customers are already very angry at them. If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end - they surrendered, they quit! The Aura will be gone and they will be taxed like never before!” Trump said.
“Harley must know that they won’t be able to sell back into U.S. without paying a big tax!”
Harley is not planning to export bikes manufactured in Europe back into the Unites States. They're going to manufactures bikes in Europe and sell them in Europe rather than export them from here.
This really isn't hard to understand. I mean, unless you're a 72-year-old syphilitic nutcase who has never made a real business "deal" in his life.
