Election 2016

Trump Raised The Rent for His Own Campaign

The great grift continues.

As you probably recall, it wasn't until just recently that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump forgave the loans to his campaign by converting them to donations. Prior to that, Trump was essentially paying himself back for every dollar he loaned to his own campaign by using all of his own vendors for campaign services.

Trump is still using his own properties and vendors for campaign services, but the price has gone up now that donors are paying the bills rather than himself.

Trump nearly quintupled the monthly rent his presidential campaign pays for its headquarters at Trump Tower to $169,758 in July, when he was raising funds from donors, compared with March, when he was self-funding his campaign, according to a Huffington Post review of Federal Election Commission filings. The rent jumped even though he was paying fewer staff in July than he did in March.

Who raises the rent on their own goddamn campaign?

Donald Trump does.

  • Well, that settles it. The trump campaign was a scam the entire time.

The political campaign as profit center. Very presidential.

What happened to the whole “I’m self funding” malarkey? If he’s really that wealthy why not just let his campaign head quarter in Trump Tower rent free so the money can be better spent elsewhere?

Also, why the hell does he need donors?!?

Okay all of that was obviously rhetorical. My only real question is are his supporters really so stupid that they don’t see through this or are they just depraved?

      They’re both!

“Who raises the rent on their own goddamn campaign?” A grifter with no interest in actually becoming President.

You know what? Fuck his donors. I hope he keeps raising the rent as more and more of these idiots give this snake oil salesman money. I have no sympathy for them at all.

I hope someone actually comes in and takes a serious look at the way Drumph has been financing his campaign as well as his own businesses and lowers the hammer on him, instead of pursuing whatever it was Hillary Clinton had on her emails.
