In other news, Michael Flynn's sentencing was delayed after a dramatic moment in court this morning where Judge Emmet Sullivan confronted Flynn for operating as an "unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as the national security adviser to the President of the United States." Flynn's next sentencing hearing will be in March after he sings a few more bars for federal prosecutors.

Meanwhile, the British government has started planning for the possibility of a no-deal or "hard" Brexit. This is going to be really bad.

Finally, your next GOP senator from Arizona will be the woman who just lost her race last month: Martha McSally.

Asked about criticism that McSally lost the election but will nevertheless join the Senate, Ducey noted she received more than 1 million votes.

“I believe that the voters had two excellent choices in this past election,” he said.

McSally will be a vulnerable target for Democrats in 2020 because Trump is undoubtedly going to ask her to vote for some exceptionally bad shit over the next two years. The state itself may be vulnerable after four years of Trump's border hysteria.

Early heads up... Thursday is probably going to be my last day here before the Christmas break as I have an appointment and some last minute shopping to do on Friday

The EU has given the UK the option to revote on Brexit. They can turn the wheel and avoid the cliff. So far, Theresa May has refused to do this.

    • KanaW

Of course May’s refused. She, her husband, and their friends can’t make enough money off the backs of the people unless they get out. (I’m in the UK, and furious.) The whole thing has turned into a debacle, and it started because at the beginning of April a new ruling starts up in the EU where rich people can’t hide their money amongst multiple countries to avoid taxes.

It’s not just May. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn also opposes a second referendum because he thinks a disastrous Brexit is the clearest path to taking May’s job and becoming prime minister.

      It’s all going to explode.

Suddenly I’m in the mood to watch V for Vendetta.

The sickening part of Flynn (well, one of many) is that when all is said and done he will fashion himself into a folk hero for the Trump faithful. He’ll hit the lecture circuit (I imagine there’s one for wacko right wingers) write a book and probably even start appearing at Trump rallies. He’s the next Oliver North. He deserves prison time.

Brexit reminds me of the nature of American politics. One side will do absolutely anything to achieve it’s ends while the other side follows the rules to a fault.

The Judge wants to “lock him up”. I don’t blame him.
