What Could Go Wrong?

The white nationalist and skinhead groups involved in a street fight in Sacramento, California over the weekend are headed for the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next month.

The so-called Traditionalist Worker Party and the Golden State Skinheads say they will provide security.

Traditionalist Worker Party spokesman Matt Parrott, who blamed the anti-fascists for the riot, said about 30 members of his group would come to Cleveland.

“We’re essentially just going to show up and make sure that the Donald Trump supporters are defended from the leftist thugs,” he said.

Parrott said he expected Cleveland police to largely prevent violence with heavy security, although “there might be a couple of isolated skirmishes.

Not coincidentally, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump recently said he would transform the Republican party into a "workers party" over the next 10 years.

I'd say Trump is off to a good (or bad) start. He already has the support of the Traditionalist Worker Skinheads, Neo-Nazis, and Klansmen nationwide.

I should say I don't believe the rampaging anarchists who fought the skinheads in the streets of Sacramento are any better. In a fight between the two sides I would root for a meteor.

As I’ve said before, if you have the support of white supremacists, the KKK, and neo-Nazis you *really* need to reevaluate your message.

……and we all remember how well the Hell’s Angels “security” worked out for the Rolling Stones at Altamont.

I know I shouldn’t laugh about things like this, but …

Brawls quickly erupted between the group of fewer than 30 skinheads and the estimated hundreds of anti-fascist protesters that left at least 10 people injured. Police have made no arrests.

Traditionalist Worker Party spokesman Matt Parrott, who blamed the anti-fascists for the riot, said about 30 members of his group would come to Cleveland.

    [emphasis added]

So, that would be all of them, then?

Seriously, though, if there’s a single person with two functioning neurons at the RNC or in the Trump campaign, there will be a press release blasted out today inviting Matt Parrott and his merry band of hooligans to stay the hell away from the convention.

The list of racists planning to attend the convention is growing quite long. It encompasses virtually the entire Republican voter base. They can’t very well turn them all way.

      • muselet

You’re quite right, the GOP can’t. Says a lot about The Base, doesn’t it?

Also, it would be political malfeasance for the Ds not to point that out, over and over and over and …

IDK but if there are any moderates left in the Republican party and Hillary could possibly still win them over, then this might not be a good idea for the D’s. However, my id says, “yes, please do”.

          • muselet

Yeah, that was my id talking. It would probably be better to be more subtle than that.

And no, there are no moderates left. There haven’t been since the administration of GHW Bush.
