According to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, 90% of Americans say they're comfortable with Obama's race.
Keep that foremost in your mind when you read about the neo-Nazis and their ilk. These sad specimens are the tiniest of minorities within a teeny, tiny minority who have been nursed on fear and fed on bitterness and given daily injections of ignorance.
Also from that ABC/WaPo poll, as early ago as June, 32% of voters polled had some feelings of racial prejudice. That number is now down to 15%. I predict that after this incredible human being -- who happens to be of partial African descent -- does right by those 15% as their president, even though they didn't vote for him, watch that number drop even more.
It's amazing but unsurprising -- among the many achievements of Barack Obama to date, we can count a lessening of prejudice and ignorance.
