A Successful Protest in the Making

I've been skeptical of the #OccupyWallStreet protest because for the last couple of weeks it seemed to lack the cohesion necessary for a successful effort. It lacked a message, a series of grievances and a set of demands -- in other words, a purpose beyond shouting at the buildings in lower Manhattan.

But, finally, they appear to be organizing into something that could achieve real change. They've released a set of grievances with the following on the way:

1) A declaration of demands. 2) Principles of Solidarity 3) Documentation on how to form your own Direct Democracy Occupation Group.

This appears to be a rough draft of potential demands.

If they can stick with it and gain momentum, they might be able to accomplish something worthwhile.

Adding... The arrests might be a blessing in disguise. The overreaction by the NYPD makes news and has the potential to generate public sympathy for the movement.
