Healthcare

A Price Tag is A Price Tag

For the Ben Nelson Gang of Six, this was fine and dandy:

President George W. Bush signed into law Thursday the first major piece of legislation of his presidency, a $1.35 trillion tax cut over 10 years.

David Kurtz notes that Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu and Olympia Snowe voted for this tax cut which, by the way, mostly benefitted the super rich -- that 1 or 2 percent of Americans who will have to pay a minor surtax to finance healthcare. They voted for it even though it cost $1.35 trillion dollars.

But a $1 trillion healthcare reform bill -- with a variety of ways to make it revenue neutral -- is too expensive.

Bribed mafia soldiers.
