Actual CNN headline: "Obama squeaks by McCain in polls"
The race between Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama is extremely tight, according to the latest CNN "Poll of Polls."
The poll? Obama 48, McCain 43. Senator Obama leads by five points even though, by all barbecue media accounts, Senator McCain "won the week."
While we shouldn't peg this thing as a sure thing, think about this... If the election were held today, and Senator Obama won the popular vote by five percentage points, it would be a near landslide.
