Benghazi Committee Chairman Tells Fellow Republicans to “Shut Up”

Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is clearly getting testy with the growing list of fellow lawmakers who've openly acknowledged that the Select Bullshit Committee is nothing more than a tax-payer funded opposition research project aimed at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Gowdy appeared on Face the Nation yesterday morning where he told his colleagues to "shut up."

"Shut up talking about things that you don't know anything about."

"Unless you're on the committee you have no idea what we've done, why we've done it, and what new facts we have found," Gowdy said in an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday. [...]

"They don't have any idea what the facts are," he said.

If the Bullshit Committee has uncovered "new facts" that actually pertain to the attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, Libya, the world is all ears.

One may wonder why Chairman Gowdy has been so eager and willing to selectively leak misleading soundbites and partial transcripts in the past, but he won't leak any of these supposed facts they've purportedly uncovered.

There shouldn't be any doubt that when the committee finally releases a comprehensive report at some point next year, it will be a nondescript document that implies much and proves little. "Benghazi," as it were, will remain an open question on the right. Just as intended.
