I suppose I should have said, “even oil companies are ahead of R politicians.”

That’s setting an extremely low bar, but a couple of oil companies have managed to clear it.

And the only reason Shell and Exxon Mobil are acknowledging reality and admitting peak fossil fuel demand is past is to placate shareholders. Otherwise, they’d still be going full tobacco industry (I expect them to continue to lie to us proles for at least another decade or so, when Miami is ankle-deep in seawater).

The next time I unironically praise oil companies will be the first time.
