Given the Republican nominee's untethered (there's that word again) performance in the last three weeks, during which he has swung wildly from Oblivious to Panicky by way of Blurt and Bluster, McCain's performance comes as no surprise.
I think we're going to see Senator Obama on offense tonight -- attacking Senator McCain's schizoid impulsiveness during one of the most grave couple of weeks in recent memory.
UPDATE: Here's the first indication from Obama spokesman Bill Burton:
[McCain] admitted he does not understand the economy — his erratic, out-of-touch behavior this week, his failure to do anything of substance to move the agreement forward on the bailout, and his commitment to continuing Bush economic policies demonstrate it.
