In other news, while hourly wages are rising for most workers, inflation and costs are rising even faster according to the Labor Department. Real wages have actually fallen by almost 1 percent year-over-year after accounting for inflation.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department is appealing a ruling by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that overturned a lower court ruling against the Texas abortion ban.

Finally, Trump is reportedly close to a deal to sell his hotel at the Old Post Office in Washington D.C. which became a symbol of corruption during his time in office.

The Trump Organization is in advanced talks to sell the rights to its Washington hotel in a deal that could bring more than $370 million.

A Miami-based investment firm, CGI Merchant Group, is in negotiations to buy the lease for the hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, according to people familiar with the effort, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private. [...]

Trump’s family-run company has been engaged in off-and-on efforts to sell the hotel since 2019, when it floated an asking price of more than $500 million.

I feel like Trump wouldn't be selling this specific hotel if he was actually planning to run again in 2024. This is more of a getting out of the game move.

The Trumps also have an enormous amount of debt coming due over the next several years and they probably need the money.
