Cantor Says No Vote On Jobs

House Majority Shitkicker Eric Cantor announced today that the House of Representatives absolutely will not hold a vote on President Obama's jobs plan, and despite what Caesar Cantor says, this goes against the wishes of a majority of voters and even a majority of Republicans voters.

Washington (CNN) - House Majority Leader Eric Cantor flatly rejected President Obama's call for the House and Senate to hold a vote on his jobs bill by the end of the month, saying Monday the full bill, called the "American Jobs Act," won't get a vote in the House of Representatives.

Cantor criticized the President for continuing to press for a vote on the entire package, saying at his weekly session with reporters on Capitol Hill, "This all or nothing approach is unreasonable."

This all or nothing approach is unreasonable!?

Where was that sentiment the last 8 months? Where was that sentiment while the economy was being held hostage leading up to the fiscal 2011 compromise? Where was that sentiment while the economy was being held hostage leading up to the debt ceiling deal?

Glaring hypocrisy aside, this is the reality we live in. No one can force the Republicans to vote for anything. In fact, no one can force them to even hold a vote. And if they never hold a vote, they don't have to be seen voting no on jobs.

There isn't a great deal of time left between now and the congressional holiday recess, and it's becoming clear that the Republican strategy going forward, at least up until the recess, and possibly even throughout 2012, is to do nothing.

Given the track record of this congress, perhaps doing nothing is best. At least that way President Obama can begin the campaign to deliver us a new congress sooner rather than later.
