They seem to have consciences. If you close down a corporation should you be charged with murder?

Don’t give them any ideas. (Although it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t already have this in mind–they just hadn’t figured out a “legal” way to go about it.)

Yeah. After all, you don’t see the folks from NOM going around protesting the existence of Red Lobster or the fast-food “burger” places that sell all sorts of pork products as part of their breakfast menus. And much of the “Bible Belt” certainly relishes its (pork) barbecue–go to any BBQ establishment, and it’s as though chicken and beef are sort of afterthoughts to the menu (but only one of the main three meats is specifically banned for consumption by the same narrative that so frequently is used to deny civil rights to LGBTs).

People can, and do, use religion to justify any sort of opinion or behavior. Employers shouldn’t be allowed to cherry pick things they like and things they don’t like as far as an employee’s use of insurance. Can an employer who is a devout Jehovah’s Witness refuse to cover the cost of a blood transfusion? It’s not an employers business what an employee uses his/her insurance for.

Should they be exempt from the employer mandate since medicine violates their religion? Or is it only mainstream religions that get the exemptions?
