Here comes some heresy...if public support for the stimulus is dropping, it's the Democratic Party's fault...because they couldn't change their nature of putting in needless pork.
Take contraceptives. I am totally, 100% of them and of changing our government's policy on birth control 180 degrees from the Bush years. But nobody - here, there, anywhere - has made a case why they are in this Stimulus bill.
Sorry, they don't fit and they never did. That's not what we were told. We were told roads, bridges, infrastructure. We agreed with that. Sounds good. Then suddenly contraceptives?
So the Republicans are actually correct on this point and the public isn't stupid. Blame the messenger, argue for sex ed. all day....the public just sees that Democrats introduced a bill that was bait and switch. So WHY risk the $$*(#(($ bill by putting them in - even for a good cause? The GOP is wrong on so much - why give them ammunition?
