Democratic Party

Distant Early Warning

Via Yglesias, here's Greg Sargent's summary of what the White House and congressional leadership ought to be losing sleep over:

Here are the net favorability ratings for Obama — i.e., the difference between the favorable and unfavorable ratings — broken down by party and compared with the previous week:

DEMOCRATS: +72 (+78)
REPUBLICANS: - 86 (- 84)
INDEPENDENTS: +35 (+39)

And here are the net favorability ratings for Congressional Dems, broken down by party and compared with the previous week:

DEMOCRATS: +55 (+65)
REPUBLICANS: - 90 (- 90)
INDEPENDENTS: - 20 (- 15)

The people who elected them weren't Republicans. We fought hard and donated millions of dollars to stop Republicans from having a seat at the big kids table. As near as I can tell, Chuck Grassley and Mike Enzi didn't appear at the convention.

Get your shit together, Democrats, and stop dealing with the stupids on healthcare. There are scores of Democrats who will vote en masse against their own party out of sheer spite and disillusionment, even if it means electing Whitey McWingnut for Senate.
