In other news, the household debt of Americans reached a record $13.1 trillion in December according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Meanwhile, Trump's richest donors lost $11.6 billion last week then the market took a dump. So, some good news.

Finally, EPA administrator Scott Pruitt says he spends taxpayer dollars for business and first class tickets and private flights because other passengers are mean to him. Or something.

"We live in a very toxic environment politically, particularly around issues of the environment," said Pruitt, who confirmed to the newspaper that he had flown first class from Washington to Boston before continuing on to New Hampshire. "We've reached the point where there's not much civility in the marketplace and it's created, you know, it's created some issues and the (security) detail, the level of protection is determined by the level of threat."

"The marketplace."

Lizard people. Has to be. Or cyborgs.

Programming note... I'll probably be offline tomorrow. I have some errands I need to run, such as obtaining a pair of pants without holes in them, and I'm heading out tomorrow evening for Black Panther.

Pruitt feels threatened? Good! That environmental terrorist deserves to actually feel threatened.

Erm … what does flying first (or business) class have to do with security? Scott Pruitt has an unreasonably-large security force that is with him at all times; I would expect that to be sufficient without going to the expense of flying first class, or on private or military planes.

For that matter, what is the nature of these oh-so-terrifying threats to Pruitt’s health and wellbeing that force him to take such extreme measures? Are there really that many uncivil people who want him stuffed and mounted?

Pruitt looks more and more like he’s simply spending as much as he can, because he can.

I would think it would be cheaper to buy out the entire row for him and his security detail than to buy a first class ticket. And his security detail has to be on the flights with him already, anyway. So, problem solved and money saved. You don’t like it, Mr.Pruitt? Then you pay the difference out of your pocket. You are not entitled to any more tax dollars that any other bureaucrat, no matter what your mirror tells you in the morning.

I flew first/business class once years ago because I wanted to. Not because I feared for my safety, which is what delicate snowflake Scott Pruitt let on to the rest of us.

  • Victor the Crab

Scott Pruitt is such a delicate snowflake. He doesn’t like people being big meanies to him just because he wants to sell the environment to the highest bidder while making everybody beneath him breath dirty air and bathe in disgusting water, boo-fucking-hoo the asshole!
