Sarah Palin

Duh. Part II.

I just caught another Couric-Palin clip on CNN. The YouTubes are jammed right now, so no video yet.

In this one, not only does Palin totally ignore the new information about Rick Davis taking from from Freddie Mac as recently as a few weeks ago, but notice the repetition of the same response just like she did with Charlie Gibson. Also, there was another uncomfortable pregnant pause after Couric's follow-up.

PALIN: My understanding is that Rick Davis recused himself from the dealings of the firm. I don't know how long ago, a year or two ago that he's not benefiting from that. And you know, I was - I would hope that's not the case.

COURIC: But he still has a stake in the company so isn't that a conflict of interest?

[LONG MOOSE IN THE HEADLIGHTS PAUSE]

PALIN: Again, my understanding is that he recused himself from the dealings with Freddie and Fannie, any lobbying efforts on his part there.

No wonder the McCain campaign is screwing with the debate schedule. All told, not since the 1972 McGovern campaign has there been this level of undisciplined, erratic political self-destruction. Remarkable.
